OREGON to the B1G

How much equipment is there for basketball or volleyball? They can pack their uniforms in their own luggage.
I’m thinking travel in general. The flights for all the other sports.

The football equipment stuff is paid for pretty much by the visitor payments you get. That’s a net wash for the most part. The other is going to add up.

Football it’s easy.

All the other sports it will be an expensive challenge.
Maybe. Other sports have fewer people and leas gear too.

Really don’t see how it’s going to be a major financial burden for a school that’s used to traveling pretty far even within the Pac 12 to begin with. I don’t think people realize how geographically misplaced we are up here.

Again, Alaska airlines has a major partnership with the university. Their name is on the arena and now attached to husky stadium. I highly doubt air travel cost is much of a concern within the athletic department.

They charter though, so it'll be cheaper per person than if Joe Blow were booking tickets from Seattle to Columbus, Ohio.

Also they'll know their schedules far in advance so that'll make it cheaper as well.

The PAC's GOR expires July 1, 2024 so should be next football season.

Pac expires 2024 no way they move forward with Stanford, OSU, Wazzu and California

apparently, the apple deal wasn't well received by the pac presidents so the call became very very short.

I'm hoping they don't move on those anyway.

If the Oregon/Washington additions are happening, then the Big 10 will have gotten the PAC's top 4 revenue generators in viewership. That should be good enough.

Wait for the ACC/Notre Dame stuff to expire in 2036 then compete with the SEC in poaching them.

That combo's gonna be the biggies too. Games the Big 10 and media rights networks expect will bring eyeballs to tv sets.

Nebraska's first 2 years in the Big 10 (2011/2012) they played Ohio St, Michigan, Penn St., and Michigan St.

3rd year in they played, Michigan, Penn St, and Michigan St.

That was all about tv revenue.
Yeah USC had Mich and Penn St in year 1 and Ohio State Penn State in 2. wisc in both.

A lot of Nebraska fans were like.... "The Big 10's trying to fuck us".

No because Ohio St, Michigan, Penn St, had to play in those games too. Someone had to win them and someone had to lose them. The Big 10 didn't care.

It was all about creating tv revenue with the bluebloods.

One for the books, @OregonDucks was right. Oh well, broken clock yada yada

Bowl game match ups during September who doesn’t like that?

That's exactly what these consolidations are about.

Grab the bluebloods and teams that get good viewership.

"both Oregon and Washington will receive only a partial share of the conference allotment through the length of its upcoming television deal, which goes through the 2029-30 school year."

Yep, 6 years partial distribution.

I thought I would be jealous but I am not. I don't want anything to do with this shit show. I'm fine ACC staying pat for a few more years.
