In The Future SEC Schools Have A Big Problem

We have Notre Dame for 24/25, is that B1Gly enough?

Uh Huh Sure GIF

I guess we could keep Bedlam every year.

They can find an extra P5 team by playing 9 conf. games 🙄

Isn't that 4 OOC games in 15 years?
Damn West Texas arithmetic got me again. That is four in 13 years for Bama. One out of fourteen. Not counting the B1G members.

Point is that is only one school. How many did Florida, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Purdue, Iowa, etal play against the other conference?

Just a quick glance the past 15 year's worth of schedules using Iowa and Ole Miss as a representative from the B1G and SEC respectively. Iowa didn't play a single SEC team in regular season OOC and Ole Miss didn't play a single B1G team either. I think we'd find this as more of the norm than the Alabama example 78 Cyclone used for Bama. But I ain't looking through all of them so I may be wrong.

Yeah because the B1G and SEC don't want to play each other until bowl season anyway. How many B1G vs SEC regular season OOC games can you recall? I remember Penn State/Auburn a few years ago. That's about all I can remember.
Get the B1G to toughen up and make this happen.

I think it is even more unlikely they two will schedule each other now that the conferences are larger. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of those games that are scheduled for the future get cancelled.

I would think the media would drive scheduling. They certainly want more bang for the buck.

Nebraska lost to G5 Georgia Southern last season, so there's that.
that's actually a good loss.. what killed Frost was losing to a bunch of teammate on teammate sex predators (not psu) Northwestern

I hope they do. More entertaining for us. I think it would help the selection committee if we had more than one OOC game amongst the conferences. But money drives them into paying lower level schools like mine to come to their stadium instead.

Huh? No scheduling other P5s wasn't the issue. There isn't one SEC opponent on your list. That was my original gripe....the lack of regular season OOC games between the B1G and the SEC. I wasn't saying schools avoid other "P5"s. The SEC and the B1G both schedule games against the ACC, Big 12 and PAC 12....just not against each other very much.

Schedules that were made before the shakeup are grandfathered in based on the definition when they were scheduled, redefine it once things settle and there's a better idea of what P5, or P4, or whatever means.

Seems like not much of a problem...

I am looking forward to UTEP @ Northwestern on 9/9!
