OREGON arriving in the B1G will create changes

Adam Gorney, a national recruiting analyst for Rivals, one of the top recruiting analysis sites, has been looking at the recruiting process both before and after the advent of these uniform changes. Uniforms have a substantial effect on recruits choosing which program to play for, he said.

“I think uniform combinations and having all of that kind of stuff is definitely one factor in many factors in recruiting,” Gorney said. “There’s a reason why when kids go on visits, the new big thing is to take photoshoots in all kinds of uniform combinations. It’s to sell those recruits, but also to kind of influence other kids who are scrolling through social media to kind of follow along.”

Just FYI.

This makes me sorta sad

Oregon routinely ranks number 1 for college football facilities in the country. They don't care about uniforms when they are being recruited
They are voted #1 in uniforms as well by high school and college kids. Middle aged white guys with beer bellies typing with one hand on a message board don’t get it.

But did you see their sick chrome uniform combo -- that is what draws the recruits, not the state of the art football facilities and one of the best locker rooms in CFB. Fashion is what sells with these recruits.

Next he is going to say Phil Knight has nothing to do with their success.

Do kids like uniforms? Sure. Will it be a deciding factor into where they go to school? HELL NO.

Academics......I can see that.
Football facilities.....I can see that.
Coaching staff......Absolutely.
Campus life.......I can see that.
NIL deals...........1000% in today's game.

Show me a single kid who said -- I chose Oregon because I love their uniforms.

According to this National Recruiting expert, uniforms do play a role. You can be dismissive all you'd like, but it's this guys career, so it has some validity to it.

I will say the exact same thing I just said to him. Show me a single recruit who said they pick, not just Oregon, but ANY school based on their uniform combinations?

Saying it plays a role in recruiting is like saying, the fliers they send out to recruits play a role in recruiting or the meal they feed the kids on visit plays a role in recruiting. Also, as I said earlier, do kids like the different uniforms? Sure. Does it play a major role in kids spending the next 3,4, 5 years at a school? HELL NO.

Such a bad take. When did Skip Bayless join the board?

Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Clemson, Florida State, Michigan, Ohio State. and so many schools out there get top recruits and they don’t wear a different helmet/jersey combination every week. You may think it makes a huge difference but I would need to see the official 1000 man Oregon rosters from the past 10 years to believe things from your particular point of view.

Buddy take a look at that list posted of the top 25 top brands in college football and just take a moment to let it sink in that Marlyand made the list and Nebraska didn't.

At least you have a stadium that can hold 65,000. 54,000 for a school talking about being among the nationally elite is embarrassing.
They don’t “have” one. They “have” access to the Raider’s stadium. Like Miami does with the Dolphins. While UNLV does not have an on campus stadium, their’s is a hell of a lot closer than Miami’s.

OMG thee Skip Bayless insult, hats off to you….

Not sure why you're so dismissive? It's this guys career. He thinks it plays a significant role in recruiting. I've also read where jersey number is pivotal in a recruit making a decision as well. I'm not saying it's the best determination for picking a school, but it's important.

Was that study before or after NIL? I can see if having more impact prior to NIL.

Now when it comes to playing, some teams “look like a dollar and play like a dime.”

It is a part of the recruitment process - no one ever said it was the sole reason a recruit chose Oregon. Mix in the facilities, the atmosphere (one of the loudest venues in the country), the uniforms, Rose Bowl wins, a couple Championship runs and of course the Nike influence.

Oregon has to recruit nationally, the Pacific Northwest is not a hotbed of high school athletes, therefore have to step up in all recruiting aspects.
