Itsa Monday!

any chips in my windshield I have gotten them from another vehicle kicking it up from the road, not a gravel truck

Follow a gravel truck too close and you're just asking for trouble.

Either it falls off off the frame/bumper when they hit a bump or it comes out of their tire tread.

I loathe following gravel trucks and keep my distance no matter how slow they're going.

Took me 2 months to get the first chip in my windshield and that was kicked up from a regular semi not even a gravel truck. grrrr

look at all that open road... that dude would be in my rear view as fast as possible.

I don't hold it against them, I'm still going to call them vultures, but I totally understand why they do it
From my perspective, I'm glad they do it. Saved me a shit ton of money for a new roof.

That said, I think it's crazy that insurance companies are on the hook for 100% of the cost of a roof damaged by hail regardless of the age of the roof.

My car insurance fixes glass with $0 deductible, so I don't sweat chips/cracks so much.

I think that... then I go to a quick lube place and the staff there is so dumb that they couldn't get clip for my air filter cover back on so the solution was to put a piece of scotch tape over it.

I know the air filter cover is annoying, but if you get the back seated properly, the front clips close easily.

Somebody should tell them that scotch tape is the solution to exactly zero car issues.
I'm lucky in that there's a tire store/garage next to my office, so it's convenient as hell for me. Give them the keys when I get it and pick them up at the end of the day.

That is typically covered under "comprehensive" part of the insurance with different deductible options from $0 to $500, but that depends from state to state.

Victory Day here in dinky Rhode Island. YAY! :rolleyes2:

Used to be called VJ Day (Victory Over Japan) but the 'politically correct' brigade forced the name change. ONLY state to still celebrate it.

Annoying cuz I forgot the banks are closed today because of it. :sigh:

Oh Well... Maybe I'll go have some Asahi beer and/or some sake at a sushi place to celebrate? :drink:

Not entirely, if your roof really old they generally won't cover it

(my neighbors got denied for this reason)
