Are Facebook scammers getting lazy, or are they getting dumber?

There's some middle aged dummy I have only the vaguest knowledge of who added me through some old coworkers who will post whatever dumb status and then his comments get flooded by obvious catfish or spam bots. It's quite comical at this point.

Old people and the illiterates still fall for the easiest shit ever so they don't need to be clever.

Simply put we're not the intended target for these scammers.
Shit... It's basically how Donald Trump got in office

If you send me the last four digits of your SSN I’ll answer your question.

I had one recently that wanted me to believe that he was a "pilot" working for Pilot.

Is AlaskaGuy still alive? I figured with Washington's move to the Big Ten and Trump's legal troubles, AG might've offed himself already...

My parents keep their landline but won't answer it because they say it's nothing but telemarketers so you have to call them on their cell phones. They keep the landline because they've had that phone number for over 40 years and they are scared family or friends they haven't talked to in a long time won't be able to reach them if they don't have it.

I countered that if you haven't heard from them since you started using cell phones they are either dead or you'll live not receiving their call but that response didn't go over well and I dropped it.
My dad still had the same landline number we grew up with until the day he died. He also had a cell phone but he hardly ever turned it on. I could only get him on the home line, if he was home.

The number is still in my contacts, kinda hard to delete it but I probably should; wouldn't wanna butt-dial the new person who has it.
