Mario Cristobal has lit a fire under his team..

Err no. They went got 2 against ND in the ‘88 game when a tie likely would have kept them in 1st place.

Just sayin'. The 1983 season (1984 Orange Bowl), Nebraska could have kicked an extra point and tied but opted to go for 2 which failed.

Miami won.

With the tie Nebraska would have been the only undefeated team and won the natty.

I remember. I’m just saying Jimmy Johnson had the same mentality. Also wasn’t that for the national title? I’d have tried to go for 2 there too to win the natty.

You could take any one of us last night (probably most of us drunk) and literally every single one of us would have led Miami to victory in that situation.
Except for OD or theefery.

They know WAY more about football than we ever will. :\

It was for the natty.

However, even with the tie Nebraska would have been the only undefeated team and likely won the natty anyway.

Nebraska would have been 12-0-1
Miami would have been 11-1-1

Yes, those Miami jerseys were very Oregonesque!

Quit talking about Bama’s next coach like this.

These schools are paying these coaches millions of dollars when any local middle school coach who actually PAYS to coach out of his/her own pocket can literally do a better job. It’s hilarious and sad all at the same time.

Worst part is, it burnt him at Oregon too when Stanford did essentially the same thing.

It’s ok to make a mistake, but it’s inexcusable to keep doing it after said mistake imo. I question the players as well, heck I’d have “taken a dive” first to run clock before I entertained such stupidity BUT I also like to win so..

Correct on both fronts!

Feel like there's a big difference between going for 2 to play for the win in a championship game and having the "we go for 2 and don't kneel" mentality he was alluding to.
