Games of Interest - Week 7

Let's put this into perspective:

Wisconsin won back-to-back conference championships over 10 years ago that were basically meaningless at the time. In just about the same time frame:

Auburn has won 2 conference championships, and 1 national championship and played in another plus had a Heisman.
LSU has won 2 conference championships and won a national championship.

Neither Iowa or Wisconsin even have a national championship.

So yeah the Auburn vs LSU game has more interest nationally.
Auburn and LSU have near 0 chance to make their CCG. The Iowa-Wisconsin winner has is probably in their CCG. Quit pimping dead teams.

u know..as much as people complain about realignment.. i look forward to better matchups than what we have this week on the docket

i'd watch out for arkansas vs bama.. btw

* WVU @ Houston on Thursday could be entertaining. Certainly better than last weeks Thursday slate

Thursday Night College Football used to be a legit great game to watch and now I barely pay attention who is on the slate.

It’s sad and honestly they are missing the boat on some good exposure for the mid tier conference member games.
Yea they aren’t Saturday afternoon/evening worthy but noon gameSaturday/Thursday night worthy? Yes 100%, Usually interesting enough to get ya warmed up for HS Friday and Saturday.
I could care less about the NFL so I REALLY miss some good Thursday night CFB.

12pm - Arkansas at Alabama - This is on the list because there is literally not another decent game until 3:30pm on
3:30pm - Oregon at Washington - Best game of the week
3:30pm - aTm at Tennessee - This is a do or die game for both programs if they are to have a successful season
7pm - Auburn at LSU - Wierd things happen in this game; earthquakes, buildings burn, 6 defensive TDs always a must-see
7:30pm USC at ND - What could have been a huge game is not just a mild curiosity but a must-win for USC though
7:30pm Miami at UNC - Do we actually care even though both are ranked....probably not
7:30pm UCLA at Oregon State - Can we just fast forward to UCLA vs Colorado so @HammerDown has to buy a cowboy hat?

Oregon at Washington is the game of the week and the rest are pretty much mild curiosity unless you are a fan. It's amazing to me that the B1G and Big 12 don't have even one game that is worthy of the list. When the PAC and ACC are producing more games of interest week in and week out then your conference there is an issue with quality (just saying).
Nobody gaf about Arkansas/Bama, A&M/Tennessee or Auburn/LSU, fatty. Only games that matter this week are USC/ND and Oregon/Washington

You’ll watch and you know you will. You won’t admit that you did but while you are watching you will hate yourself because you will know I told you so.

For some reason, that Texas A&M/Tennessee caught my interest when I first saw it on the slate today. I had no idea this was even a game this season. Yeah, the Ducks and Huskies and Notre Dame and Trojans are more high profile. And at the moment and speaking of Wednesday night football, UTEP (1-5) is up 21-7 on FIU (3-3). I feel a comeback.

You drink unsweetened tea , don’t ya yankee?

True story:

I was in Texas on business and a bunch of us went to a local Steak House called Sawgrass the Texans were all about, the waitress asked what we wanted to drink and I said "Unsweeted tea" and the Texans started chuckling.

In the South, if you order "Tea" it automatically comes sweet you have to specific unsweeted and a lot of places you are lucky if they even carry it that way.

The fuck?

UGA v. Vandy needs to be at the top of that list!

I will agree with LSU and their national attention, but don't act like Auburn is in the same level as them.

Since Auburn lost to FSU the NC in 2013 season

Auburn has gone 62-45 (.5794)
Iowa has gone 74-33 (.6916)

Auburn had 1 year with 10+ wins (latest in 2017)
Iowa had 3 years with 10+ wins (latest in 2020)

Auburn finished in AP Top 25 3x
Iowa finished in AP Top 25 5x

Auburn failed to reach 7 wins 4x (excluding COVID year)
Iowa failed to reach 7 wins 1x (excluding COVID year)

Want me to go on?
