Yes after he left Bama. Couldnt hack it.
I was shocked when it said he was a grad transfer. From what I heard, he was kicked out of Bama, as he wasn't showing up to class, practices, etc.

I don't even know where he went after Bama?!?

I think it was a JC but I am not 100% on that. He may have transferred more than once after Bama.

I have no clue either. I know he had more than one year of eligibility and left after one year to go with his former high school coach to, I believe, Charlotte?!?!

Seemed like a good kid who just was not serious enough early on. But its still fun to get on MI fans for taking a Bama dropout.

this news gives me a raise and an extension ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I'm all about our administration getting out of the way. Imagine Michigan's offense the last couple years with Xavier Worthy. Our admins wouldn't allow him to enroll early because of a high school credit. Yet Texas took him immediately.

Michigan is stuck in the stone age.

The arrogance, the best word to describe the problem, is one reason people love to hate on MI.

Michigan reportedly is gearing up to hand Jim Harbaugh a massive contract extension. Harbaugh has won two straight Big Ten championships and has brought the Wolverines to two straight College Football Playoff appearances. Currently, the Wolverines are 6-0 and ranked second in America. The school is getting ready to lock up Harbaugh with lots of cash. John Bacon reported Monday that “two high-ranking UM officials” told him the plan is to make Harbaugh the highest-paid coach in the Big Ten “within the next month.”

Good idea or not?

They were going to fire him at one point, made him take a reduced salary at another, team is under investigation and he likes to sleep at recruits' houses. We've seen these kinds of deals blow up in the face of ADs more time then they have worked out and honestly he is in his 8th year and its rare these days for a coach to be productive past 10. There are exceptions but a decade at the helm seems to be a tipping point and that period actually may get shorter with NIL and the portal.

All that being said the guy has turned around Michigan (it took him 6 years) and he has at least caught tOSU and there is a strong argument replaced them as the top dog in the B1G.

Good idea or not?
I'm enjoying my time right now as a Michigan fan, so yes please. I'm not sure a few million dollars here or there really matters at all one way or another.

We have arrogant fans. Both of us do. The best word to describe our administration is archaic though. While others have progressed with the times. Michigan is still stuck in their ways. There is no bending the rules or turning a blind eye.

It is exhausting as a fan, as we watch schools and football programs changing with the times, while we are stuck in the past. At least they started doing some NIL stuff.

I think it is arrogance on the administration. They think that somehow the credits from others does not live up to a credit from MI and wont accept them. Just my opinion.

It's sad that getting beat by TCU in your one playoff appearance is your golden time as a Michigan fan.

The truth of the matter is -- Michigan isn't one of the elite programs, we are in that 2nd teir of teams, as we will never be able to recruit like the Georgia's and Alabama's.

We will need the stars to align and the ball to bounce our way to win a title. So getting invited to the big dance is a big deal for us.

Now if our administration gets out of the stone age -- I think we could do some damage. We shall see though. Until then, I'm just enjoying the success we have had, as next year is a big question mark with the departure of 17 or 18 starters.

WTF - Turn in your blue blood card and go sit in the corner.

I don't know who you are kidding -- you are in the exact same boat, but even further down the list of 2nd tier teams.

In the last 25 years what should I elevate then. Our awesome BSC bowl win against VT? Or the Capital One Bowl game against Florida? Or maybe the losses to app state? How about Toledo? Or the like two decades of losses to Ohio state?

We’re good to make a run every 5 to 10 years. I’m good with it.

The CFP has been around for 10 years. Was Auburn ever apart of it? I can't think of a year they were.

This is where I am coming from:

1983 - Played you guys in the Sugar Bowl and should have been crowned national champs
1993 - Undefeated but on probation
2004 - Undefeated and got screwed again
2010 - National Championship
2013 - Played for the national championship and lost in the last seconds
2017 - Won the west beat UGA and Bama but took too much of a beating with injuries and didn't have enough to finish

Right now we are in a rut no doubt and most of it of our own doing but we have been more competitive against Alabama than anyone else in the conference over Saban's run and honestly other than our record against Georgia it hasn't been completely awful in most years. We'll be back.

I'd be willing to bet with the addition of Texas and OU, and the emergence of Georgia as the premiere team in CFB, that you won't see Auburn much at all in even Conference Championship games, let alone NC games.

Georgia finally finding a coach was the worst case scenario for the SEC. You already had to deal with Bama. Now you have to deal with the two best CFB programs right now in your conference.

Define much?

Like I said we will make runs every 5 to 10 years and I think that is very reasonable. Texas and OU joining the SEC is not that big of an issue as we have always had to go through Alabama, Georgia and LSU plus throw in Tennessee and Florida in their good years. With the additions, Auburn's road actually gets a little easier because we avoid LSU on yearly basis and in the 2000s that game decided the western division title many times.

Don't discount what Auburn has had to do in the past and how the expansion actually helps us because our schedule gets easier. We've had the hardest schedule in the SEC for years so none of this is new.
