ala Bosa a few years ago?
Sort of. Don't blame Bosa one bit. If I remember right it was like 10 weeks he was going to be out and a torn pec isnt something to mess with it

No, and that's not my point. McConkey was a 2*. AD Mitchell wasn't a 5* he was a 3* ranked the 60th best WR in his class.Could that "reason" be that those 10-12 are like dropping from 5*/4* talent to 5*/4* talent? Not like much of a drop off like it would be with less talented teams.
Torn pecs, ACLs, are the type of injuries that if you come back too soon you could reinjure just by playing. A high ankle sprain is not the same. Now, a QB like Tua doesn't need to run as much, so he could do it. We have a RT who got this surgery, but he is 330 pounds, so he is going to need more time to recover due to his weight. Bowers is in between. He's 230, but needs to be more mobile than either of those two players. 4-6 weeks sounds right.Sort of. Don't blame Bosa one bit. There’s only been one 1000 yard receiver in program history. Terrance Edwards in 2002No, and that's not my point. McConkey was a 2*. AD Mitchell wasn't a 5* he was a 3* ranked the 60th best WR in his class.
We have struggled to get the top WRs year in and year out. tOSU gets them, OU gets them, Bama does. We don't because we haven't had a 1000 yard receiver since 2006 I think. We don't get top WRs because they want touches and yards. We don't give them touches and yards because we don't highlight 3-4 WRs. We use 10-12 every game so we have a lot of guys who have experience when needed. That's why McConkey and others were able to step up when we lost Pickens/Mitchel/Burton during the regular season.
So, when you lose a Bowers-level receiver you can't replace them. But, you can have really good talent ready behind him with experience so long as you are willing to not have highlighted WRs. UGA is okay with that and it has worked for us thus far. Let's see how it does now that Bowers is out for a while.
I think he will be back for the SECCG for sure. Maybe earlier. He wants to play.
Soooooooo, would you guys be willing to exchange receiver talent with a Kentucky, South Carolina, etc? Or Wake Forest, NC State, etc?No, and that's not my point. McConkey was a 2*. AD Mitchell wasn't a 5* he was a 3* ranked the 60th best WR in his class.

I get it. Georgia's receivers aren't very talented and never have been! That's why you offered them a scholarship. There’s only been one 1000 yard receiver in program history. Terrance Edwards in 2002
Nobody said that. UGA’s WR room is always gonna be one of the deepest in the country, but other TOP programs are probably gonna have a better first wave because they feature receivers where we rotate, and the top top WR recruits don’t like being in a rotation. I like our way because our offense doesn’t shutdown after a couple injuries at receiver like apparently Bama and OSU’s does.I get it. Georgia's receivers aren't very talented and never have been! That's why you offered them a scholarship.
Big loss.
Brittle Bitch alert. He’s done.
Not the point I am making. Of course, we have better talent than those teams. You will recall both our NCs were criticized because Bama and tOSU lost top WRs. They should have had enough talent to get around it. They didn't because they highlighted a few WRs instead of rotating. I am simply saying we do it differently - we don't get as good talent at the position that they do because we rotate - but I hope our way of doing things will enable us to get around the loss of Bowers.Soooooooo, would you guys be willing to exchange receiver talent with a Kentucky, South Carolina, etc? You ain't going to convince me that Georgia is lacking for talent at ANY position!
You are really being dense here.I get it. Georgia's receivers aren't very talented and never have been! That's why you offered them a scholarship.

For the uninformed retards that think Bowers will sit out if cleared to play:
I’m putting Bama and tOSU in the same group as your dawgs. They did and do have enough talent to “get around it”. Nobody is going to convince me that teams who recruit like those three are bereft of talent just because of injuries… regardless how they develop them. Be it via Georgia’s game rotation method or if they develop in practice. Talent is talent. Not the point I am making. Of course, we have better talent than those teams. Not dense, sarcastic. Guess I should have used the green font. You are really being dense here.
We ran a lot of 12 last year when we had Darnell Washington who was a freak unicorn. Not as much this year. You keep talking about receiver rotations but Bowers isn't a receiver. You aren't rotating him out like a receiver bc he is blocking too. I'd be willing to bet he has taken a heck of a lot more snaps than the next TE.
Not to mention, doesn't Georgia run two TE sets a lot?
First, no one is asking for sympathy. Nowhere in my post am I asking for anyone to feel sorry for UGA.I’m putting Bama and tOSU in the same group as your dawgs. Teams that recruit to the level those (and others do) ain’t getting any sympathy from me. The drop off in talent from one player to the next on teams like that is minimal compared to others.
