With the last two games, tough to put UW over UGA.

My guess here is the committee will reward Washington's better resume.
Committee learns their lesson for their retarded first rankings and keeps UGA at number one. Undefeated team coming off back to back natties should be number one until they lose.

But, I hope they put UGA at 4. If they do, I feel bad for what’s gonna happen to Missouri

That could certainly be the case. But they didn't have UGA #1 last year in the initial ranking, so they would be diverting from what they've typically done.

I agree with this. I’m all for the committee coming in and starting with fresh rankings late in the season free from the pre season bias the other polls have.

But, for an unbeaten team like Georgia with the longest win streak going for #3, they should just get to stay #1 until someone beats them.

With how much UGA lost from last year and with the ugly games they've had against bad teams like South Carolina and Auburn, it wouldn't be unfair. I remember in 2015, OSU was the defending champs, returned almost every key piece from their national title team, but also had a couple ugly wins against bad teams and they started at 3rd. Hell they had a 1-loss Bama ahead of them in the 3rd week of rankings when OSU was still riding a 23-game win streak. I understood it though, they didn't look like the best team in the nation.

is the committee the exact same as last year or was there some changes in membership?

I would totally agree IF they wouldn’t publish and/or publicly state they are/will following certain criteria and then use one not listed. Or at least include prior year performance as one of the criteria.

First, I don't care where we land.

Second, this is a year where there isn't a dominant team. Seriously, who are you putting 1st?

- Texas has the best win at Bama, but they lost to OU.
- Washington has a good win against Oregon, but has looked pedestrian in recent games and can't play D.
- UM has looked the most solid, but their schedule is worse than UGA's. Plus they cheat.
- tOSU has had its ups and downs and what is their best win? PSU ... they looked terrible.
- FSU might look the best but the Clemson win has lost its luster, and LSU has one of the worst D's in the country and has 2 losses.

My point is that there isn't a team you can look at and say, yeah, that's the team this year. There are no 2019 LSUs, 2020 Bamas, 2021/22 UGAs.

I'd probably go FSU 1st, then it's a toss-up between UGA, UM, tOSU, and Washington. I'll go:

FSU
UGA
tOSU
Cheaters

UW
Texas
Oregon
Bama

That should get the OU fans pretty pissed off. I like it.

I think wins over Notre Dame and Penn State land tOSU at the top to start this charade.

2. FSU (Beat duke and LSU)
3. Washington (Beat Oregone)
4. Georgia (Beat KY)

5. Michigan (Beat nobody of note)
6.Texas (Beat Kansas and the best win of the year @Alabama)

OU lost to Kansas but their best win of the year was over Jexas. That means OU too has beat Bama.

They like to say they look at the whole body of work, not one game. So, trying to think like a madman here.

I think they definitely give more weight to recent events, so an OU loss this last weekend will hurt more than if it were a month ago. That is how Jexas will get the bump over OU. Which will just piss OU off even more and they will throttle Jexas in the Big12 game.

Assuming of course they make it. KSU might have something to say about it this weekend.

Not advocating for being no. 1 - don't care. But you can't just go by who you beat. The committee has shown they look at the teams themselves. They look at talent, progress, injuries, etc. For example, they will see UDub can't play D, and has some really close wins - they won't focus on one win. Duke? Seriously? The Duke that just got beat by 23-0, that is 5-3? I'll give you the LSU win, but they have 2 losses and are terrible on D.

Point being you can't just look at wins ... the committee, believe it or not, is more sophisticated and knowledgable.
