UM folds ... accepts punishment

I have no idea why people continue to talk about his house? Stallions is a retired USMC captain. Average pay for that is 93k a year. He lived on an army base, so I'm sure he was banking money. Retired military also get monthly pay based on what they made and years of service. And being retired military, he could easily get a VA loan.

And the 500k house is just a house in Ann Arbor -- That is what the average sale prices of a house in Ann Arbor goes for. If this guy was raking in money -- I'm thinking he wouldn't have a vacuum repair business.

How the hell is he retired? Don't you need 20 years? He isnt even 30 years old is he?

We’re also talking about just $15k a year. This wasn’t some multi million dollar operation.
I don't even know what the $15k is you are talkin gabout? I only posted about the house, as maybe people on here don't own a home or have never been to Ann Arbor?!? But they seem infatuated with the 500k house -- that is an average house in Ann Arbor. A retired military captain should have plenty of money banked to put down on a house and being military, he could easily get a loan from the VA.

That’s how much he allegedly spent this year on tickets and travel for people.

My guess is his access was revoked when he was suspended.

Correct. He was suspended almost immediately
Incorrect. The word was out in early October that there was an investigation happening at michigan, and he wasn't suspended until October 20th. He had more than enough time.

I'm just going off what has been reported about him. I'm guessing he went in at 18, retired at 28. So he got 10 years in. So he qualifies for some benefits and not other. You'd have to ask someone more versed in that though. The first story I read about this back a couple weeks ago -- this was the first line.

Stalions is a retired captain in the United States Marine Corps and is considered a "low-level staffer" at Michigan, but he reportedly is a central part of the NCAA's probe into the football program.

Maybe. But maybe they didn’t know WHAT the ncaa was looking into and didn’t act until that became clear. It would make sense that an analyst wouldn’t have the same inside info there.

Partridge fired for trying to cover up for stallions. Not linked to prior knowledge. Scheme apparently funded by booster.

The sooner you realize this is a far-reaching scheme and that you have some serious issues coming your way, the easier it is going to be on you.

Seems like it’s reaching the same place so far. Stallions. This isn’t recruiting. The booster aspect is rather irrelevant

Eligibility for military "retirement" is 20 years.

They're using the wrong terminology here. "Separated" would be the proper terminology.

As long as his discharge was 'honorable', he would certainly qualify for a VA loan which is 100% of the mortgage. i.e. No down payment necessary.

Yes, they did. You didn't and weren't willing to make the assumptions and presumptions that were sitting right in front of you. I and others not UM fans were willing to make those assumptions and presumptions that are now turning out to be obviously true. But, UM has also known that for a fact for weeks because they have been in on the meetings where people were interviewed as long ago as 3-4 weeks. So, yes, UM has known about this.

I will point out one detail - in UM's response, both lawyers said something along the lines of we haven't seen any evidence. The B1G busted their balls in their 13-page Notice when they pointed out that UM was in the same room with the NCAA and the B1G when specific evidence was presented that UM was denying existed. All that would have been on the record. It was then that I knew my assumptions and presumptions were correct. It was then that I knew for a fact that my assumptions and presumptions about your "we have a big bad awesome law firm" defense were nonsense. UM denied the existence of basic facts of the case that the B1G and the NCAA presented to them. It was a huge WTF moment for the B1G and NCAA when UM denied they knew of facts the NCAA and B1G actually showed them. UM didn't say the facts were wrong - that might be arguable - they said they hadn't been given any facts when they clearly had been.

The story broke Oct 18th. Stalions wasn't suspended until Oct 20th.
There is a whole story behind that. The B1G gave UM uncontroverted facts that Stalions was behind this scheme and they were blown away that it took UM 3 days to pull the trigger on it. The article I read said they thought it would happen that day, then the next, then the next, and as each day went by they were befuddled that he wasn't suspended.
