EPL 2023/2024

only 4 today with the bulk tomorrow.

Really hoping LFC puts Forest to bed early Tom and not have this nervy lack of finishing crap they showed vs Everton.

Arsenal lol. If Liverpool and Aston Villa win tomorrow, they are in Top 4 and Arsenal out. Arteta in full jumping jack flash mode as usual. I love seeing Arteta lose it.

Looks like the refs and VAR were the stars of the show today.

I missed the game. When the final score popped up on my phone i was happy to have missed it.

Saw the highlights and seemed like the team really fought being down players for most of the match. Just hope the injuries and red cards don't hurt us too much going forward.

The EPL has turned into a right shitshow, it's something every week, usually in multiple games. It's why I haven't really been
tuning in like before. Bundesliga and Serie A are much better to watch.

You’d have been proud of the lads. #COYS

I didn't realize the extent of the injuries and suspensions Spurs are facing.

- Van de Ven: hamstring, looked really bad, probably out for an extended period
- Romero: straight red, 4 game suspension
- Udogie: 2 yellows, single game suspension
- Maddison: knock on his ankle plus other lingering issues, possibly at least a game
- Richarlison: will undergo surgery for an injury he was carrying, time out unknown at this time

That means for at least the next 4 games we will be without our 2 starting centerbacks. We will be without our starting left back for at least a game and possibly our star midfielder for a game or 2.

Going to be a real test of the team and Big Ange's tactics. Could galvanize the group or everything could fall apart.

There is an international break after this weekend. Hopefully that helps for a few of them.

4 game suspension for a straight red card in EPL? Seems excessive. Kimmich at Bayern got a straight red two weeks ago and only 2 games.

I was mistaken, its a 3-match ban for a straight red. If he gets another straight red, its 4-matches.

Why not man City? Or Chelsea? Everton a bottom feeder.

Everton docked 10 points for financial breaches

I think the answer is City has been able to afford a better legal team, they've been skirting the rules or playing very close to the line for a long time.

Chelsea has been able to get around it via their long term contracts (which will eventually bite them in the ass). They've been able to spread the FFP expenses over several years while anyone they sell gets to be applied all in the same year.

Everton was up against it even last year, which is why they had to sell Richarlison to Spurs. Sucks because this all but guarantees they will get relegated now.

Edit: actually maybe not. The 3 squads that were promoted have done so poorly that Everton still has a decent chance to stay up despite the 10 point reduction.

International break yet still club soccer in League 1 and 2. Bunch a games on at 10am and ESPN+ is only showing the 7:30 game. Like WTF? They still do this crap. So disappointing.

I've been checking in on Wrexham. Wild how both them and Notts have stormed up the League 2 standings in their first year. Both looking like strong contenders to skip right to League 1 so far.
