Time to Fire Ryan Day

Yep it’s not all equal at all schools. With how Ohio State recruits we should not be missing the playoff 2/3 years because we get pantsed by a less talented Michigan. It’s all on the coaching.

Urban missed it 3 out of his last 4 years, and the one time he made it got blown out. I get he was undefeated against Michigan, and did win a Natty, but the margins are really slim, they could have just as easily lost the Bama game.

Dude makes a FG last year, OSU is the champs.

What exactly did Sherrone Moore do that was so aggressive? Going for it on 4th and a foot or two multiple times in good position on the field? You dont think Day would have done that in the same situation?

The trick play? Ok, maybe.

What else?

Did we run a single package or play that hasn't been seen before? How does Marvin Harrison only get 5 catches? Questions are allowed to be asked of Day's vanilla approach. Meyer treated The Game as a must win all on-the-line where Day coaches like it's just another week imo.

And knowles gets some flak too for getting zero stops in the second half and refusing to sellout on the run during Michigan's last drive.
Special teams was subpar too.

I am curious

How many years before Jimmy Jam beat the Bucknuts? Wasn’t it a few?

Worst start for a Michigan head coach against Ohio State history. After the COVID disaster season I think he was told he has to make changes and he is on a very short leash.

He took a pay cut, got some young and upcoming coaches on his staff instead of the old Don Brown's etc. and it has paid off for him

Yep Michigan was laying it all out in the field to win that game. Day was playing not to lose it in comparison. A loser strategy

Look at the talent difference. We should not be losing to Michigan 3 years in a row. So many excuses from the Day apologists

you all keep saying this and you're banking it on rankings when they were incoming freshmen.. OSU constantly turns NFL early entrants out meanwhile Michigan had a bunch of 6th year guys. Michigan is 5th total in nfl players.

they were clearly better at qb. Our OL has been rough all year.

Talent difference at QB was not advantage Ohio st

Clemson got all kinds of talent. No QB

Stop being logical.

In Knowles defense -- UM has only punted once in the 2nd half the last 3 years against OSU. And Michigan's 4th down plays were all 4th and inches.

I agree on the trick plays -- Michigan has a bunch of plays every year they don't use until the OSU game. Not sure about OSU, but their offense looked pretty standard.

The biggest issue for OSU is -- after halftime and adjustments are made -- Michigan takes over. This year -- you held UM to 1.9 yards per carry in the 1st half. 2nd half -- we averaged 5.8 yards per carry.

sure OSU has overall better rated recruits. But whos better? A five star first year OL or a 6th year grad OL?

OSU at safety and LB has been an issue for like 6 years. You saw it yesterday

Styles missed a million tackles yesterday

Eichenberg did not have a good game either. He missed quite a few tackles. Gotta wonder if his injury was still bothering him

I remember when Nebraska fans wanted to fire Tom Osborne in the 70's because he couldn't beat Oklahoma.

In the 80's it was "He can't win the big ones" (bowls).

Osborne inherited a team from Bob Devaney that won back-to-back NC's in 1970 and 1971.

Texas didn't fire Mack Brown after he lost to OU five times in a row (two of which were by 49+ points)... and I'd say that worked out just fine.

And even with the adjustments, I'd say OSU's defense did fine. Doesn't help that 7 of those points they gave up were on a very short field (the interception in the 1st quarter).

The Don Brown defenses were a ton of fun to watch when they worked, but man was he stubborn to change his ways even after OSU exploited them. Doesn't help the corners at the time (2018-19) weren't very good against good receivers, let alone OSU's.

Sucks because those 2016-17 (and most of 2018) defenses were incredible. But hey, teams adjust to how teams are coached and adjust and then the other team has to find a way to adjust to said adjustments... Michigan the last three years after getting burned by OSU.
