The College FB Playoff Thread…powered by butthurt

They played LSU, Southern Miss and Florida OOC and their conference schedule.

LSU finished 9-3. Not their fault Florida and much of their conference had down years.

2 SEC teams and their conference schedule seems solid enough. The only cupcake they scheduled themselves was Southern Miss.

Meanwhile, Alabama scheduled Middle Tennessee, USF and Chattanooga.

Not sure what more FSU was supposed to do.
They also played Northen Alabama the week before Florida, you know SEC style super delux cupcake before rival.

Whether or not you think they couldn't have scheduled better, the sport is better off if someone pays a price for having high wins on the backs of a meh schedule.

I'm personally tired of seeing sub FBS teams being scheduled by anyone. It's time teams paid for it.

Thing is, they didn't actually do 'everything' they could. 55th in SoS says they could have added meat in their OOC and didn't.

That's the only part that leaves me happy. Make it so those cupcake OOC's stop being rewarded.

They scheduled two SEC teams. The conference that was too good for them to get in over

I'm not saying they deserved it, but I can still be happy it at least might make AD's/Conf look a bit harder at OOC going forward. It's a good byproduct of a bad precedent to set.

Go look at Michigan OOC

Agreed but then you would have to say the same thing for Michigan or UGA if they beat Bama

Sure. Again, as said in the post just before yours, I don't think FSU deserved to be out. I'm just saying if it does add the benefit of causing AD's to think more before scheduling Northern Alabama, Southern Miss, or any of the other directional speedbumps then at least something good comes out of a bad decision.

Why then is Bama not penalized for scheduling more cupcakes, including Chattanooga the week before Auburn?

Also, when was the last time an unbeaten P5 champion was left out?

they are the only team out of the top 6 to schedule 2 power 5 teams in the non conf

For the 3rd and final time,

I'M NOT SAYING THEY DESERVED IT. I'M SAYING SOMETHING GOOD COULD COME FROM IT.

That means of course other teams also do the same scheduling bullshit. I hate 100% of games made by P5's against non FBS teams. Period. Full Stop. It's bad football, it's bad for the fans that have to pay for it.

If one sacrificial lamb helps make a few different decisions here and there by other teams with playoff aspirations then the sport benefits.

It's still bad for FSU and they should have been in.

Am I not being clear enough? lol

And still had 2 directional schools as well. It's garbage.

The continuous bringing up of UW's mid-season lull is getting old. Like I get it, they didn't look very good against some average to bad teams. I won't ramble on about injuries and illness, but just say, can we at least point out how they show up for every big game and how DeBoer is like 9-0 against ranked teams at Washington? The constant doubting seems to be working out pretty good for us so far I guess, but god damn...

Fuck it. At this point it's all gonna get to be shown on the field. Welcome to the playoff, now turnaround and tell everybody else to kiss your ass!

I'm happier with the line opening Horns -4 than if UW had been favored.

They have all of their receivers back and now Polk and McMillin have some confidence after that CCG. Asa being back was a major difference in that defense. So many good things going on.

Can't wait.
