And that's why this is stupid. The only way to determine the best is to base it on most deserving. It's just subjective nonsense after that.

Yes, it's always been a weird quirk of college football and even part of the charm. But game results and wins/losses have to matter, judgments have to be based on more than "your starting QB is out so you probably won't win." That take goes against everything good and decent about sports. It has always been subjective and that's not being taken out of it with the new playoff system. Ultimately, it's gonna come down to people making judgements.

Just defaulting to "well it's supposed to be what we think the best 4 teams anyway" to get the matchups you want when it goes all the precedent of how they've determined the best 4 based on who deserves it in the past is not the kind of judgements that have always been a part of it.
And that's why it's stupid. Each committee is different and each committee can use different reasoning, it's people after all. It's not an objective system and there really isn't a good way to get an objective system.
We readily recognize in CFB records can be misleading, and looking at results in the NFL we can see records can be misleading, the best predictor is who's trending in what way when and frankly FSU looked like shit last night.

I think so. With the super conferences we're bound to end up with more regional divisions at some point anyway, things will likely change quite a bit.To fix it we'd need a restructuring. The B1G & SEC be the NFC and AFC and then divisions. Give it a decade and we might be there.
FSU got fucked hard.
With no vaseline even.
So what do you do in a year like this year where in your scenario, the XFL is better than AFC or NFC?To fix it we'd need a restructuring. The B1G & SEC be the NFC and AFC and then divisions. Give it a decade and we might be there.
I'm hoping to have good, thick ice by then so I can go fishing. So what do you do in a year like this year where in your scenario, the XFL is better than AFC or NFC?

True but there are going to be non “top teams” that will still be in the P2.At least as far as top teams go, by then they won't be in alt conferences.
