He got too much shit from our fans but we have the be realistic about his ceiling. Also we need a QB that can use his legs.
 
Fleming seems like he's been in college for like 8 years already. Guy can just never stay healthy enough to make a big impact.

I think McCord has already reached his ceiling, and yea his athletic ability is not near enough to even get close to making up for him being pretty average at best as a passer.

He could have a very nice last season at like Pitt or Virginia or something.

based on the post #188 it sounds like the decision to play in the bowl game is still tbd which leads me to think he has the option. If that is the case, that needs to change. Kid wants to leave that is certainly his decision but your business with the current team should be done. Now, and I don't know that this ever happens, but they decide they want to stay then they come back out of the portal and they can be an active player again.

This Kleinholz kid sounds like someone they are really high on. This makes me sound like an old foagie but it just sounds like "if I am not guaranteed a spot next year I am leaving". Apparently he doesn't want to compete. Better off without him.

I like Keinholz skill set, but coming from playing HS ball in bumfuck South Dakota that's a big adjustment to P5 football. I mean it kind of is for any HS kid, but it's a bigger adjustment for him than most.

A very large contingency of OSU fans are hoping to see Lincoln in the bowl game. Not many would be shocked if Brown also transfers so it could happen. He's the elite athlete of the room for sure.

True, but Dante Moore came from a pretty good program in Detroit and was clueless. I think the coaches like Kleinholz's athleticism and potential. Throwing him as a true freshman wasn't going to help him or the team this year.

That was never gonna happen. He may play in the bowl game, which is fine considering the circumstances, let's see what he can do. But a guy from South Dakota who was not a early arrival, didn't get on campus until the summer. Was not going to see any playing time during the regular season unless a war path of injuries happened in front of him.
 
I keep seeing the defense of McCord from some that he's "not that bad look at the stats!"

Stats would be good 20 years ago but they are absolutely mundane for a QB in 2023 with elite skill position talent around him.
 


Former 5 star. Doubt he was ever gonna be the starter though.

If Beck stays, expect Gunner Stockton to hit the portal too with two QB’s coming in the 2024 class including Raiola
