Is this the first year…

Being left out for theorized future success is crazy.
Totally agree with this. We don’t think you’ll fare as well without your star player. No soup for you.

That's how it should have been. The BCS got it right. Texas should have been on the odd team looking out, even if they beat Bama. If you compare losses and wins, Bama had the better win (against #1 Georgia) and the better loss (against top 5 Texas). Texas should have been out because they lost to #12 OU. The reason so many people are upset isn't really because of Bama being in, it's really (whether they realize it or not) because Texas AND Alabama got in over FSU.
Texas beat Bama. In their house. By double digits. Glad I could remind you.

Bama/The SEC were never getting left out. It was way easier for them to justify tossing FSU to the side and putting both Bama & Texas in than justify putting Bama in over a team they lost to h2h.

Jordan Travis getting hurt ultimately saved the committee from having to make the "we can't leave the SEC out! Even for a team that beat that team head to head!" decision that woulda pissed way more people off than FSU getting left out under the circumstances.
BS. If Travis hadn’t been hurt and FSU had won like Texas did on Sat FSU is in.

It’s ridiculous to think otherwise.

TV money has an SEC bias.
Fixed it for you.

On that note, I rarely take anything Screamin' A says seriously but I think he had a point.

An undefeated FSU with Deion as head coach gets in because of the attention it would draw.

It's still a business, folks, and ratings matter.

Of course FSU was in if Travis never got hurt. I never said otherwise. I just said Travis being hurt gave them the easy out of dropping FSU and just putting both Bama and Texas in.

I'm loving all the conspiracy theories and crazy scenarios that people are coming up with.

The chair of the selection committee was the NC State AD so basically we are to believe that he was complicit in leaving out the ACC champ so networks could make money. How many people do you think the SEC paid off?

It’s not a crazy conspiracy theory. If you think anyone involved who has to answer for anything is not going to factor in what leaving the sec champ out means for ratings and everything else more than anything in this scenario, you’re nuts.

If Georgia wins Texas is in and FSU is out.

Everyone is making this about the SEC and Bama but it doesn't add up because the selection committee chair was an ACC AD. If there truly was a fix in it would be an immense undertaking to get all the parties involved on the same page and all of them would be risking their integrity not to mention becoming liable for civil penalties and since people bet on this they would be risking criminal charges.

Now what makes the most sense to you, that a fix was in for the SEC or the committee picked the best 4 teams?

Honestly Michigan barely beat yall at their house with a retarded OSU QB and coach.

So we can’t hang at a neutral site with our backup and that running game and defense?? Lol
The 'retarded OSU QB' had a better QBR and passer rating than Jordan Travis.

The only Michigan fans up in arms right now about FSU are the fans who wanted a free pass to the NC game. Instead of a 2 td favorite over FSU, we are only a 2 point favorite over Bama.

So you believe that these guys cared more about ratings and the SEC than their credibility and conferences:

Chris Ault - Nevada AD
Mitch Barnhart - Kentucky AD
Boo Corrigan - NC State AD
Chet Gladchuk - Naval Academy AD
Jim Grobe - HC of Wake, Baylor and Ohio
Mark Harlan - AD Utah
Warde Manuel - Michigan AD
David Sayler - Miami (Ohio) AD
Will Shields - Former Nebraska player
Gene Taylor - Iowa AD
Joe Taylor - VP @ Virginia Union Unversity
Rod West - a graduate of Notre Dame and Tulane
Kelly Whiteside - Professor Montclair State University & Rutgers

All of these people were in on the fix and let ESPN and the SEC manipulate their votes.

Oh come on QBR is extremely overrated in some instances, we woulda killed to have Travis instead of McCord.

He was awful. Lol I watched the OSU UM game and his throws were bad man.

He Played against awful teams all year. Clemson plays Penn St’s schedule they have the same record.

The Big 10s best OOC win was Notre Dame. Lol Louisville killed them

Obviously the fix was in for the SEC. Bama needed a 4th and 31 to beat Auburn a week ago, now they are one of the 4 best teams?

Just pointing out. The QB you are calling retarded had better numbers almost across the board than Jordan Travis.

Not sure what PSU's schedule and Clemson has to do with anything, but Clemson was a train wreck this year. They lost by 3 td's to Duke.

Dammit, now I gotta add these names to my Christmas card list.

Duke was good early this year. Point is the Big 10 is garbage and y’all’s schedule was a joke.

The best OOC win for the big 10 all year was Notre Dame. Go look at who you played all year.

No wonder you never had a lead vs TCU last year. You’ll probably be winning 3-0 at halftime this year.

I do feel bad for FSU. I'd much rather be playing FSU than playing Bama. FSU definitely should have had a spot, but your backup QB is a disaster.

Yes. And don’t get all ass sore and hyperbolic about it. Again, it’s not like some big “fix” or conspiracy. But they clearly have everything they need in their list of criteria to justify putting whatever matchups they want in the final 4 any given year. As soon as Alabama won it was painfully clear which way the final rankings were gonna go when every single analyst started talking about Florida state being left out, including the commentators on the ACC game.

With my team being in the playoff I’m actually glad Alabama is in to avoid all the cries of asterisk year with no SEC team. But let’s not pretend that FSU didn’t get screwed to keep the SEC involved, or that the committee didn’t make the safe bet and it took some kind of balls to drop Florida state out.
