It's the America I grew up in

Y’all had the sissy cannons. We used to make em out pvc pipes.

Have a tank and a straight pipe and a starter button for a grill attached to the screw on/off back part of the tank.

Stick a tater in the straight pipe, spray a bunch of hairspray in the tank, screw on the back, hit the igniter button, and you just turned a tater into a deadly weapon
So if yall know what Braums ice cream store is.....

Braums made slushies and the straws had bigger holes than a normal straw. We made various blow dry guns with them. No ma, I haven't seen your sewing needles and thread ..... then we took to school for spitwads.

Without the barrel, all of the energy is wasted.
Bird shot still popped but we used a 12. Have no idea how it went down but cars on all side of the street got peppered.

the memories of the good days will never die
Dukes of Hazard shows
CB radios
the movie Jaws
earning money
bubble gum
lawn mowers powered by Gas
ice cream trucks in summer time
women that stayed home to cook good food for the family and take care of her nest
coffee shops full of old and young sharing stories
hope

I dont remember coffee shops when I was young.
Cafes (for breakfast) & actual truck stops is where everyone drank coffee when I was growing up. (but maybe that is what you meant by coffee shop)
Side Note: I only knew of coffee as well. Never heard of a latte'

Go into the Diner for breakfast.

Yep
Play the Jukebox as you eat your eggs, right there at your table, at the Red Rock Cafe 1964

We didn't have that shit back in the 70's, youngin'.

PVC pipe didn't become 'the norm' until the 80s, and grills used charcoal and lighter fluid.
I don't recall any friends parents having propane grills. Even if they did it's not like they wouldn't have missed the starter had we taken it.

I doubt a kid could walk into a store today and buy a can of zippo lighter fluid, but we could back then.

so strange that this is happening with young girls of now
I work at UNK and they really want me to tell them of how it was back in the years I grew up ??
kinda like these new guys are wormy or faggots er sumtin
