It's the America I grew up in

My friends and I used to drive my truck around, pick up all the giant rolls of used carpet people left out then use them to carpet other people’s entire front lawns.

Imagine waking up and your front lawn is completely carpeted.

Effin A, Cotton! When you were at/near driving age Down in my little town we cruised the state line on Friday and Saturday nights.

Was talking to my brother on the phone a bit ago about this and he reminded me of this one.....

We used to take 'Strike Anywhere' wooden matches and shoot them at each other out of our Daisy BB guns.

They'd come out on fire leaving a nice smoke trail.

Y’all had the sissy cannons. We used to make em out pvc pipes.

Have a tank and a straight pipe and a starter button for a grill attached to the screw on/off back part of the tank.

Stick a tater in the straight pipe, spray a bunch of hairspray in the tank, screw on the back, hit the igniter button, and you just turned a tater into a deadly weapon
We built about a dozen at work, one each for the workers and the rest for the supervisor, out of Aluminum pipe. Tig welded all of the parts and pressure tested it with Oxy/acetylene straight from the tanks. It would hold a larger charge than the tater could stand. The only thing that kept us out of jail was that we could fine no pipe with an ID that was a good size for loading golf balls. We also built dozens of wood heaters and a couple of backhoes while I worked there.
Had to be that or 4 in the floor.
With a fifth under the seat.

We would take 3-4 and wrap a tin foil hood over the top, down about 1/3rd of the way down the stick.
Lay it down on the edge of a table and put a flame to the foil until the matches lite up.

When they ignite, they shoot off like a rocket.
