BREAKING: Saban Retiring

If DeBoer does turn down Bama for his new UW deal, that would make them at least 0-3 in their search. Who would've thought?

3? I don't think anyone else is confirmed to have received an offer.

Rumors are all anyone has so far. Nothing truly inside.

Basically I think we are down to 3 choices:

DeBoer - Seems to be the guy they are targeting but maybe Washington unloads the cash dump truck (will hurt they aren’t getting a full B1G share).

Norvell - Not sure if this latest NCAA issue will scare Bama off.

Kiffin - I don’t think the admin wants him but if the other two are out he is the best option.

If it isn’t one of these three the AD is going to catch hell.
What about Dabo

Lanning.

List of potential candidates is shrinking…

I’ll raise you Desmond Ridder/Taylor Heinicke(saying I’ll see and raise is a string bet)

As long as you push your bet out all at once and don't grab the call, then grab the raise it will still be allowed

Kind of embarrassing really.

I mean, only if they’re not getting their top guy. We have no idea what Alabama is thinking internally. Most of the media guys are just speculating

But was he formally offered or did he say no without one?

We don't know who Bama targeted. It's been all wild speculation.

Whoever they get will be their "top" guy. We'll need to wait a while for everything to die down to get some reports on how it actually went.

I'd be a little worried about Vrabel's willingness to go on the recruiting trail. Being the former player and former NFL coach will recruit itself a little bit but it's just a much different style of coaching

In 3.5 seasons DeBoer has gone from Indiana OC to Bama HC. Incredible rise in a short time.

I'm not as certain of that. My guess is we've got more than one coach on the line right now. This very well could be stretching out because like Saban did, we've got some guy saying no that we think could still say yes.

Still, seemingly all we've done so far is move through the hot names off the johnny-come-lately board. I can't help to notice the more experienced names on the list haven't came out to say they're remaining in their respective positions.
It's a small pool so I'm not sure what experienced names you're talking about.

If the criteria is a candidate with successful HC experience its just a handful of names.

Sark - Out
Dabo - Don't want
Norvell - Out
Lanning - Out

If you want Franklin or Drinkiwitz then go for it but DeBoer and Kiffin seem to be the best choices on the board and I'd go all in on Kiffin.
