Just shoveled. Massive drifts, that are crusted over af. You have to cut them into blocks with the shovel and then shovel the shit. My front yard looks like waves.

For the most part, the forest protects us from the wind, comparatively, other parts of town are much windier. But 20 mph winds with gusts up to 40 for 48 straight hours still gets through, particularly in the front yard.I have a grove on the northside of my property and it keeps the wind down around my place.
I imagine there's some good drifting going on out in the open. I can hear the wind howling when I'm out shoveling the porch for the dog to go out.
Gonna wait 'til it's over to fire up the skid-loader and get everything else cleaned up.

Lows suppose to get down into the teens starting tomorrow night, highs around freezing through Tuesday! I moved down here to get away from that shit!
That'll be short lived though. You'll rebound out of that fairly quickly. We'll be in this shit for another couple of months.
I always say "Winter's not over in Nebraska until the NCAA Basketball Tournament is over."
Yeah, one of the many things I don't miss about Minnesota!
Almost 1:30 and it's -37 still. Gonna go ahead and call it the "High" for today.
Minnesota is a gorgeous place to be from May - September tho.
If you can handle the mosquitos!
Yep.
I remember being in 'The Lake of the Woods' as a child and the moment we got out of the car we were covered with them.
That's the worst place I've ever been for mosquitos and I've spent quite a few years in Mississippi/Louisiana.
Yeah, if we had a wet spring it would be a real bad year, we would try to have bonfires in the yard and we couldn't, smoke didn't work, off didn't work we always had to move the party inside.
Looks like we dodged most of the snow again. It has been raining all day, winds up and temps falling. Black ice will be a major problem soon.
