That would be ok with me, but you know they're not going to do that. They'll argue something about changing the game...yada yada yada, but the real thing is it would take away commercial time. Can't have that.

and yeah, it's to keep the refs informed about what's going on on the field.
 
The first two rules changes make sense. The 2 minute warning is just a money grab but it doesn't negatively impact the game so I'm fine with it.
