Big Ten Basketball

Holtmann takes a job at Depaul and OSU ends Iowa's year. Still need to beat Illinois to even be in the conversation for the tournament.

Man they screwed up not firing Holtmann earlier

Duh fuq is DePaul thinking here? Do they just not care about their basketball program, was Holtmann trying to get fired, what?

Ohio St was (2-9) leading up to Holtmann getting fired.

They're (6-1) since and on a 5 game winning streak.

it's inconceivable how anyone could think he's a good coach at this stage.

I'd say their performance in the last two decades should answer that question for you.

I think this is a great hire. Holtmann was good at OSU until these last two seasons. He was GREAT at Butler. As we've seen that's not the easiest place to win(no tournament appearances since he left). He will absolutely raise the floor of that program. They could have done a lot worse than this IMO.

Low expectations. DePaul has not had 10+ conference wins since they joined the Big East and only 1 over .500 season since 2007.

Odds to win Big 10 Basketball Tournament...

Purdue: +100
Illinois: +300
Nebraska: +1000
Wisconsin: +1200
Mich St: +1400
N'western: +1700
Ohio St: +3000
Iowa: +3600
Indiana: +4000
Maryland: +6500
Minnesota: +10000
Penn St: +11000
Rutgers: +22000
Michigan: +25000

I think Sparty upsets Purdue on Friday and wins it all.

Purdue's a #1 seed in the dance regardless of the outcome here, and I expect they won't be giving 100% to save some gas and avoid injuries.

Sparty vs Illinois for the championship.

Who you got?

So much for that call. LOL

End of the run, though. Don't have the firepower to compete with Edey and company.
You mean the guys in the striped shirts, right ?

Then Illinois doesn’t get one call and Brad Underwood has a giant meltdown on sideline.

they've called a foul on ohio state every single time down the floor for the last like 7 possessions
