TV Series Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon

Probably so but at least it happened.

HOD has been one big teaser filled with illogical decision-making.
yea, that's how I feel about this season...like it set up for a second half of the season that never happened...like this should just be a hiatus, not the end of the season

A lot of social media posts were like "I just watched a 70 minute trailer for Season 3....."

including a montage so could fit more in...

First season should have ended all this by letting Meleys loose and it was BS that didn’t happen.

Second season was one giant teaser. GOT is supposed to have a pay off in the final episode or at least clean up an epic battle and bring closer this did not.

Leaving on one giant cliff hanger in order to wait two years to see what happens is a great way to get people not to care.

There's still a lot of action to get to. A ton of things happen in the battle of the gullet (the sea battle) so i guess they decided that event was too big to try to cram into the final episode of S2. Would have been a great ender though IMO.

I'll reiterate that S2 felt a little too slow but I'm happy they're taking their time to flesh out all the characters and story arcs. Far better than rushing things the way GOT did.

Only minor gripes so far are that Daemon's redemption arc seemed to take too long and the absurdly bad port security each capital city seems to have.

that's a good point...they talked and talked and talked about breaking up the blockade and NOTHING ever came of it. Why not have an episode where that happened now? It was all just talk.

At least Sir Criston actually did a thing he said he was going to do

GoT generally had the big battle in the penultimate episode and then some cleanup and major buildup for the next season in the finale.

Yup.
Plenty of good Episode 9 happenings in the first six seasons.

1-Baelor
2-Blackwater
3-Rains of Castamere
4-Watchers on the Wall (Mountain and Viper was #8)
5-Dance of Dragons (Hardhome was #8)
6-Battle of Bastards

Let’s be real they cut the number of episodes and punted the big battle to the next season because of budget. There was a ton of unnecessary filler during the season they could have cut and made room for the battle if they had chosen to.

This was all about getting subscriptions up for the show with as few episodes as they had to make and trying to keep you with a major cliff hanger.

These seasons should be 10 episodes and should have included the battle and we shouldn’t have to wait 2 years before seasons.

If they are trying to make me disinterested they are succeeding.

Our border control makes their port security look like Ft Knox.

you'll get penis and like it!
Oh, yeah. I'd forgotten.

What the fuck is up with that?

First they turn that that hot, fire-crotched piece of ass into a 90 year old bag, now they're showing dick. Fucking assholes.

we actually saw a dick in a mouth this season...that's new.

I think there was a scene where Daemon went down on his mom too

With all the stuff that suppose to happen and them saying its gonna be a 4 season show, I'm starting to get the feeling they might rush some things, consolidate or leave some things out. Because really of the events to come, I can say at least one of them should have happened this season but HBO got bitchy with them about the budget axing the show from 10 eps to 8. Now maybe they still wouldn't have put it in this season even with 10 because I feel like they still could have done it 8 if they wanted to (you trim a lot Daemon/Harrenhall stuff from this season among other things) but I don't think it bodes well for the future the way they've done the first two seasons pacing wise. I also don't think its entirely budget related either. If you watch those "Making of" things at the end of the episodes, I get a sense the staff are up their own assholes a bit.

Folks best not bitch too much. They'll stop making these wonderful GoT shows. I really want one about the Conquest & one about Robert's Rebellion.

Yeah hard to tell really. Budget obviously isn't as big as the later seasons of GOT, but then again very few shows actually get that kind of massive budget.

The length (4 seasons of 8 episodes) seems fine...though I do think they could have lengthened S2-S4 to 10 episodes each. First season being shorter makes sense from a budget perspective. Maybe they will add episodes for the final 2 seasons since they know they have a hit on their hands now? Probably not, but I wouldn't be upset about it.

I highly doubt they stop making them

The only thing that doesn't make sense for the first season being shorter is dealing with the time jumps.
