They either need to make a huge primetime game during week 0 or just do away with week 0.
I don't know how it gets any bigger than Georgia Tech/Florida State. They either need to make a huge primetime game during week 0 or just do away with week 0.

FSU vs Georgia Tech in Ireland? This has the atmosphere of the NFL in London games or the MLB in London games where it's just dead and you wonder if the fans in attendance even know what's really going on. And it's Georgia Tech, maybe the most boring brand in college football along with NC State. Before the NCAA allowed an extra 12th game, these week 0 games were pretty big matchups. Just look at all the games in the 90's. Once that happened, week 0 games have gone downhill, but you still had good games like USC vs. Virginia Tech in 2004, and Miami vs. Florida in 2019. I'm just glad there's something. Between 2005 and 2016 there weren't any week 0 games. This is honestly a pretty nice matchup for a week 0 game. I'll be watching.

It's called FOMO my man. I dont want to watch it but the anxiety of not watching a CFB game and not cherishing every single moment becomes stressful. Also FSU is a potential playoff opponent this year for Oregon so it's a good idea to watch. I just wish it was a better match up then cruddy GT. FSU/UF or FSU/Miami, or even FSU/UNC I am excited. Not GT. I dont want to watch this game but due to FOMO I will re-organize my Saturday plans to fit it in.Compared to other week 0 games since they started happening again in 2016? Yes, this is probably the 2nd best week 0 game, after Miami/UF in 2017. If you think it's such a crappy game, pretty easy solution is not to watch. Would this type of game get lost on a normal Saturday? Sure, but it's still a nice game to start the season IMO.

It may feel more fun if this was at a neutral site like Orlando, Atlanta, New Orleans, etc. But not Ireland. It's going to feel like a US Soccer match. It's only an 11.5 point spread. So it could be a good game. GT, while inconsistent, wasn't a bad team last year. GT returns 8 starters on offense, and FSU has a lot of new pieces. I think GT could have a top 15/20 offense this season. Could be a good game. If anything I think it could be a shootout.

ND in Ireland makes sense. I would be okay if the CFB market was trying to establish something in Ireland by giving them an annual team that every year had a game played there. Notre Dame may not make sense at a university level due to the losing the cost of a home game (Unless they could somehow agree to a neutral site game each year that didn't take away a home game) but one of the lesser programs could team up and agree to have a neutral site game in Ireland every year. That would at least give it some tradition and pageantry instead of random matchups every couple years.ND played their last year against Navy and it was an okay atmosphere. I'd agree, better if it were in the US, but it should still be okay.

It's always been a high activity atmosphere no matter who plays, for some reason Irish people love this stuff. And anyway unless you're actually there, you'll just see a normal ESPN CFB broadcast.FSU vs Georgia Tech in Ireland? But...GT beat both Miami and UNC last year, so why are these other two teams a better match up?It's called FOMO my man. The offense is great, the season mostly hinges on the defense. The good news is that it is practically impossible for the defense to have gotten worse so they are bound to have improved under the new coach. It's only an 11.5 point spread. How is Atlanta a neutral site for GT? I know we have a sluggish fan base, but come on, man!It may feel more fun if this was at a neutral site like Orlando, Atlanta, New Orleans, etc. But not Ireland. It's going to feel like a US Soccer match.
