2024 College Football TV Ratings

Northwestern/Nebraska viewership 4.42 million
Virginia/Tennessee viewership 2.46 million
4.42 million - 2.46 million = 1.96 million

Me: "I'll take College Football for $800, Alex"

Alex: "How many sell-out home games at Tennessee does it take to total 1.96 million?"

Me: "What is 19, Alex"

Huge numbers for ABC yesterday.

Directv and espn are in a contract dispute. They just turned off all the abc/espn channels 30 minutes before the usc/lsu gm. Brilliant stuff. Luckily I have espn plus but a lot people are going to be very angry

Another big number for last night.

Saturday’s Colorado-Nebraska college football game averaged 6.3 million viewers on NBC and Peacock, according to Nielsen fast-nationals and Adobe Analytics — easily the most-watched game in the network’s “Big Ten Saturday Night” franchise.

I read Colorado/Nebraska (NBC) had 6.3 million.

Sports Media Watch hasn't released the complete numbers yet which I'd thought they released them on Tuesday.
Maybe I'm not remembering correctly and it's Wednesdays. :headscratch:

Yes, that was what the Colorado/Nebraska game did. Last year they did release the complete numbers on Tuesday, but after week 1 of this year it was on Thursday. Not sure if that's what will be the norm, but maybe the numbers are coming in a little slower.

I remember reading on Sports Media Watch last season that they'd release the numbers on Tuesdays, 'unless there was a holiday on Monday'.
That statement is no longer there.

If they moved it a day (i.e. to Wednesdays) then it would make sense that Week 0/1 was released on Thursday because of Labor Day.

Yeah, I'll be checking tomorrow to see if they are released then.

CBS averaged 2.28 million for Iowa State-Iowa in its weekly Big Ten slot, down 23% from UNLV-Michigan last year (2.97M) and down 32% from the same CyHawk rivalry matchup a year ago — which aired in the same window, but on FOX (3.38M).

CBS @ 2:30 Central is apparently still SEC Territory!
Seriously, it was nice for ISU to be in the CBS National Game with the #01 crew and win.
Bummer that the ratings were not better.

It'll be interesting to compare what the B1G numbers will be in comparison to what the SEC numbers were last year. CBS not off to a great start so far. I think the ND/Purdue game may top 3 million, but still not close to what they were getting last year with the SEC.

It's a GREAT timeslot and perfect for the B1G (or the Big XII). Danielson had a cool comment when they were talking about it being a beautiful Saturday afternoon in the Midwest - perfect for football. Danielson said: "Just like it was when I played." As a fan of Midwestern afternoon CFB, I loved that comment. I wish Iowa State could play in the timeslot every week (regardless of TV station).

football weather is 90 plus degrees at kickoff..whether that be at 11am/Noon, 2:30pm/3:30pm or 6pm/7pm

I want Texas to build a roof at DKR.. turn up the heat to ensure it's 90 degrees in the stands and 115 degrees on the field at all times

Probably the best “game” of the week but not according to “viewership”. Lack of a brand name.
