The Napier Gone Talk Is BIG!!!

Florida needs to hire a good program builder.. give him time to turn around the roster and instill some sense of culture.. then fire him and bring in someone that is proven.. gonna cost you a kajillion dollars but fuck it.. to take them to the next level.. Proven guys aren't walking into a complete rebuild job

Speaking of which, how much are they still paying him not to coach em?
they are paying him $1M every year til '27.. they ate most of the buyout when they fired him

Alex Golesh
Bob Stoops
Urban
Mark Stoops
Baby Kif
Kingsbury
Will all be called imo

Spurrier will finish this season as interim.

There’s only one choice Florida needs to turn to in this moment of despair

Of course you do :ranger: :yawning:
IDGAF if you don't think I do, but I do. And it's not like I am saying something so outlandish ... hell, it's all over social.

So, if the Kiffin thing is real, are we talking like Kiffin is new coach starting this season? Next season? Does Florida have to give Ole Miss money now to get Kiffin gone from Ole Miss? Not trolling. Just unsure how that process works this early in the season.
Next season for sure. He's got a shot at the natty this year at OM. The problem with OM is that he will get a shot every 4 or 5 years. If he recruits Florida right, he can get a shot far more often. This assumes they also fire their AD and get the buy-in they need. It's not all on the coach. He's just part of UF's problems.

My bet is Kiffin uses Florida to get an extended deal at Ole Miss and additional NIL commitments. He runs the show 100% at Ole Miss and it’s rare to get that power.
I could see that. A lot depends on how much being comfortable means to him v. really getting into the pressure cooker and possibly winning a NC. He has a way better shot of that at UF because of the recruiting territory.

I see a program in distress like this through multiple coaching changes and my mind goes to the boosters: Are they the problem?

Anyone here who knows Florida football better than me, I'd love to know your thoughts on that.
I mentioned in another thread that there is a lot there to fix.

- Delusional fanbase who really has only won under two coaches. You have to remember their first SEC championship was with Spurrier in 1991. Let that sink in ... they played a ton of football and while UGA, UA, AU, LSU, UTjr were winning many SEC championships, UF didn't until 1991. They are equally delusional about basketball.

- Their AD has to be the worst in the world. He has to go or the problem won't go away.

- But, is their admin into it? They are in transition with the president leaving under a cloud, so who is going to make this decision? And, they really are into their academics ... and they are very good at that. But do they get admin/faculty support they need?

So, there is a lot to fix.

Yeah I'm hearing that Strickland may be out too.. Fuchs is the interim president and he could get rid of him too. I hope he does!! He sucks as an AD!!!!

Urban to Florida?
I'd take him back with certain parameters.
1. He controls the ghetto shit in the locker room
2. He forfeits any payout if he suddenly gets "sick" again or leaves for another school.
I'd dislike the man on principle but I can appreciate his coaching mind. I don't have to like him per say, but he can absolutely do the best job of coaching.

Well first off, our first SEC championship was 1984 and I was there. Yes it was vacated because of Charley Pell infractions, however we won that shit on the field.
Yes Strickland needs to GTFO and he will be gone once we get a new president at the school. Our current shit for brains (Sasse) quit and our interim president was our old president Fuchs.
DeSantis did us a favor by putting in the tenure review policy, and that's why shit for brains quit. He was a liberal block head and saw the writing on the wall. Yes they are serious about academics there, and will continue to be that way especially in medical research. Football is a huge money maker for Florida though, without it they wouldn't have a lot of other things not to mention the Bull Gators, who donate 10s of millions of $$$ a year. They are looking for a President who will be serious about the tenure review policy and shit can professors who aren't making the grade. Tenure is a privilege and meeting or exceeding expectations is all that is required along with not becoming some liberal ideological dumpster fire school.

Honestly, 1984 is still not very good for a team that has played football for as long as UF has.

To be clear, I was being very complimentary of your academics. Just wondering if the emphasis on that will turn you more into a Michigan than UGA/Bama/tOSU.

Lots to clean up, but you have natural advantages that should make the last 15 years not happen.

Strickland has to go. He can't have any part in the next decision.

She's also a UF alumni..
The ex? The current GF is not:
