2024 College Football TV Ratings

And outside of Texas interest is going to be split
If Jexas is still #1 or #2 and A&M can win enough to get ranked, it is gonna beat UM and tOSU. ND and USC won't even get close.

Curious what you think the number will be? You think it will get above 13/14 million? OSU/Michigan has avg 15.5 million the last 5 years.

OSU/UM was 19m last year, I except we will beat that.

I don't even think it'll come close to that. I guess we'll find out soon enough. There's just no precedent for this game to come even remotely close to that number. My guess would be probably 11-12 million. That might even be high too.

All of Texas is going to be tuning into that game..at least til halftime when my Horns build a 28 pt lead by then :)

lol, no precedent? Guess you are too young to remember it. Was ND/USC the first collegiate rivalry to be on a Wheaties box? Is the cheapest ticket you can buy in a 100k+ stadium $600...for a single in the nose bleeds?

You are right, we will get a chance to find out. I think you just don't understand what the game looks like.

When I say no precedent, I mean that this game has never come close to that kind of number from the available data. What do those things you mentioned have to do with garnering a high TV rating? I think a ton of people in Texas care deeply, and it will get a good rating, but 20+ million is just an absurd prediction IMO. Texas vs. UW in the CFP didn't even get that much.

ESPN is going to hype up the showdown.. like i said earlier this shit been marinating for over a decade now

It's gonna get a lot of viewers

plus aggy found it's better QB in Reed.. they will have a good record heading into that game too

For me, it's not even about interest so much as it is competition. There's going to be other rivalry games at the same time that siphon off viewers.

Michigan-OSU typically dominates the early window with no other premiere games on at that time.

It'll be interesting to see how ESPN handles the flex with Oklahoma-LSU, Auburn-Alabama, Texas-A&M, and Florida-FSU (yes I know these schools are bad). They'll have to put one of these at the same time as OSU-UM and 2 of the others at the same time.

Yeah, ESPN has a bunch of games to choose from. This is the slate TBD:

This would be my guess as to where games go:

Florida vs. FSU - 12:00 | ESPN
South Carolina vs. Clemson - 12:00 | ABC
Vanderbilt vs. Tennessee - 12:45 | SECN
Auburn vs. Alabama - 3:30 | ABC
Arkansas vs. Missouri - 4:30 | SECN
Oklahoma vs. LSU - 7:00 | ESPN
Texas vs. Texas A&M - 7:30 | ABC
Louisville vs. Kentucky - 8:00 | SECN

Plus they also have 6 additional ACC games to schedule and a handful of B12.

I could see a very realistic scenario where the OU/LSU, Texas/A&M and ND/USC games are all on at the same time. Unless there's like 30+ million people watching in primetime that weekend, I don't see how Texas/A&M gets close to 20+ million.

Which games you are up against in the same time matters but we all know it is scaled…and networks know it for sure. The one they put up against OSO-UM will be probably the game with teams having the worst records. The sacrificial lamb. Looks like UF-FSU can be led to slaughter right now. “IF” Ou/LSU, Bama/Aubie and UT/A&M are all having nearly stellar seasons, I think the order of preference would be:
1. UT-A&M -Because it has been so long.
2. Bama-Aubie - might be 1 if Aubie…
3. OU-LSU - Not a rivalry
4. UF-FSU - Nuff said

I will admit the game won't have the eyeballs it did before the pause because it used to be on THX day, and hopefully it will get back there. I don't think anyone tries to go against us in whatever timeslot we get, but I do think it will be the 7pm slot. ND/USC will be earlier in the day, Kstate game won't draw eyes from us, and some of those games listed will end up on ESPN+. UF/FSU won't make the major network and by that point in the season LSU/OU might not either. If I had to guess right now I'd say ABC runs LSU/OU at noon, Bama/Aub at 3:30, and A&M/Jexas at 7pm. Everyone else can go to ESPN or ESPN+

If y'all ain't ready to run through a wall after seeing this... u might already be DEAD!!!!

November can't get here fast enough!

Y'all spend too much time thinking about A&M to learn how to spell?
