Oh calm down. He will obviously improve, but you have to admit, being in an exclusive club with Desmond Ridder as the only QBs to ever have 25 attempts and under 100 yards in their first game isn't exactly an omen for success.

The dude went 14-29 for 93 yards, yet you fought tooth and nail to tell me Fields was the problem in a game he went 28-35 with 335 yards and 4 TDs. I'm not getting back into this with you but you have to see how ridiculous that is.

Relying on stats alone is dumb, and comparing one cherry-picked game in 4 years of play is pretty dumb too.

It was Will Levis that led the Bears back from a 17 point deficit.

We’ll see if the Oline can recover. Simmons is a beast without a whole lot around him. Coach’s probably should have schemed to not let him beat them.

Williams did miss some downfield throws badly. Jitters perhaps. He didn’t lose the game with turnovers though.

I have no idea what the fuck is wrong with that organization. I read that two of the top three rated guards in the NFL so far are James Daniels and Lucas Patrick, two former Bears. You have Fields at 2-0 and outplaying Caleb in basically every imaginable way in Pittsburgh's shit offense, you have Luke Getsy scoring 26 on the Ravens with Gardner Minshew, and even Darnell Mooney had a good game Monday against Philly for the Falcons. Meanwhile the Bears' top receiver is 56th in the NFL in yards and they don't have a RB even on the map for leading rushers. They just hate developing offensive talent in Chicago.

David Carr was better than Derek, but getting drafted to a team with no offensive line torched his development and career. I've said many times that you need to fix your offensive line BEFORE fixing quarterback. GMs keep fucking that up and this is the result.

I shouldn't pin that all on GMs. Coaches and owners are the problem too.
1) If you know your OL is dogshit, start a veteran "bridge" QB to get beaten to shit instead of the rookie QB while you build that OL.
2) When an owner buys a new Ferarri, they want to drive that shit off the lot for everyone to oogle at. Problem is that the road off the lot is loaded with potholes and you end up fucking up the Ferarri because 'vanity'.
