I shouldn't pin that all on GMs. Coaches and owners are the problem too.
1) If you know your OL is dogshit, start a veteran "bridge" QB to get beaten to shit instead of the rookie QB while you build that OL.
2) When an owner buys a new Ferarri, they want to drive that shit off the lot for everyone to oogle at. Problem is that the road off the lot is loaded with potholes and you end up fucking up the Ferarri because 'vanity'.

That inside oline has been trash......Caleb looks lost.
Im serious when I say hes taking so much of a beating that I dont think he is gonna make it thtu the season....
Its been frustrating as hell to watch......

Now Im not throwing in the towel on Caleb at all,but some of those throws have not came close, even to where I thought he was just chucking it away, but thats not the truth,it was just bad throws.....and thats even when he has had time.

Hes a rookie and is gonna go thru that......but damn,as much as he was hyped up,Im just not seeing it yet.

I blamme the oline mostly with the coaching 2nd and Caleb 3rd.....

What is happening to Caleb and Bryce is exactly why top 3 drafted QB's shouldn't start in year 1. Almost every time they are #1 it isn't by accident, its because the entire team sucks. So draft a QB at #1 then sit him all year. Let the team that got you a #1 get you another top 5 pick. Use that to either draft the best RT in the draft or trade it for a couple of firsts to get multiple good OL. THEN in the second season you start him with more experience and a better team to protect him.

I'd say this Bears team is a bit different that yer traditional team with the top pick. I mean they won 7 games last year, and should've won 9.

But Poles' resistance to build the o-line is troubling. They are much worse than last year, particularly at Center and RG.

True, they weren't the typical #1 pick because of the trade. But one look at that Oline and its clear they need another year of drafting and FA to protect Caleb.

So... bet on Bears winning the Super Bowl in 2026? Vegas generally won't take wagers on something that far in advance, but maybe if I offer a 4-part parlay where (1) the Jets set the regular season record for points scored, (2) Shedeur Sanders goes #1 overall in the draft and (3) Andy Kaufman finally comes out of hiding, having faked his own death.

I thought the o-line was ok last year...not great but ok. They were near the top in run-blocking...but Center was an issue and either Guard spot, depending on how they shuffled things around. I like Wright at RT, and I think Jones at LT is good enough, and I really like Tevin Jenkins, but I'm not sure he's great on the left. But Center and RG are a HUGE downgrade this year. Some of the worst shit I've ever watched. It absolutely blows my mind that's what they've trotted out there for the season. I'd rather watch a practice squad player that tries, than i would one more snap from Coleman Shelton.

Bears still have Carolinas 2nd rd pick......2 picks in probably top 33 and 3 pending where we land in the draft......

Better be some top olineman......no excuses.

I don't know enough about your line, just watched Caleb get ragdolled this last week.

Better yet would be two OL and get a good one in FA.

That's assuming Andy Dalton doesn't turn things around in Carolina, of course.

For sure. I would have been absolutely fine with keeping Fields and focusing on the O line. Doesn't really matter who you put back there if you have protect them.

Nah, fuck that, that kid just doesn't see the field well AT ALL. Nice kid, GREAT athlete, but he really isn't a good QB. Game manager at best, and you better hope his supporting cast is strong, cuz if he tries to do too much, it's fuck street. He loses too many games on his own play.

I liked the drafting of Darnell Wright last year. He's been pretty solid. I think Jenkins has a mean streak I like, but that's about it. The have horribly ignored the Center position. I liked the general idea of the Nate Davis signing, but he has been a bigger FA bust Than Chase Claypool.

I really like Ryan Poles. I think he's done a great job turning this team and it's accounting around, but it's tough to like an outside-in built team. Big Uglies for the wins.

Not sure hes gonna turn that team around......his time had come and went.....

Even if Andy fets a ciuple of wind,we will be sitting goid for 3 picks in top 40.....of course thats assuming the Bears dont do much either....I got my fingers crossed we finally get the offense going this Sunday........
Daron Payne looks to be out,and their run def was not impressive vs GB....

I think we got this one.

Oh I was joking, Carolina might be the first 0-17 team.
