Pac12 expansion - looking to add 4 teams

Has Gonzaga been mentioned as a basketball only member yet ITT?

I could honestly see Air Force bolting for the AAC if the PAC doesn't invite them first. I think being in a conference with Army and Navy could make sense for them.

That makes sense because Army and Navy play there. The travel is about the same just reversed East Coast vs West but considering the MWC got gutted a decent move.

If that’s the case then it is actually a win for WSU and OSU. The MWC needs 9 votes to dissolve and if they can get those 9 votes then we don’t have to pay any money.

So invite Nevada, UNLV, New Mexico, and Wyoming/USU and dissolve the MWC?

That may be the strategy. I’m honestly not sure. I’ve heard UNLV (which I’ve heard there was sometime of offer) cause it’s Vegas and New Mexico for basketball. So far it seems like WSU has taken the lead in terms of teams invited but sometime with the next invites we have to pivot to baseball since we only got two baseball teams. While football is number 1, baseball was a big deal to Oregon State to make the partnership instead of just looking out for our own interests.

Not sure but we lined up with the MWC in football and took the top tier (outside of UNLV) but now in basketball and baseball we are with the WCC so could be similar with Gonzaga and St Mary’s

Remaining MWC viewership numbers

Who would have thought UNLV was the lowest?

"For what it's worth, the eight remaining MWC schools -- if they stay together -- will go to market looking like this in total viewership since 2016:
  • Air Force: 81st
  • Utah State: 83rd
  • Wyoming: 84th
  • Hawaii: 94th
  • Nevada: 100th
  • New Mexico: 102nd
  • San Jose State: 103rd
  • UNLV: 104th
In the new Pac-12, no school is ranked lower than 86th (San Diego State)."

Honestly, I would love to see them add Memphis, Tulane, UNLV, Nevada(because they'd have too) and Gonzaga and St Mary's in basketball. 12 total teams, 10 football teams. That would give you a top 5/6 bball conference every year, and the best possible fball conference.

Problem with Tulane and Memphis is then you kind of have to add 4G5 Texas schools. It doesn’t really make sense travel wise for them or any of the current 6. I would love Gonzaga since they should be a natural rival since we share Spokane with them.

I think the Pac should make a new logo as the new conference comes about. Why use the same one as that which fell apart?

Far Out Western Athletic Conference

iu

I'd think they'd go Indy before returning to the current version of the Pac.
They shouldn’t be welcome. Make them go independent and watch their shitty programs go belly up

Latest saying Memphis Tulane USF and UTSA . 10 team conference.
