Pac12 expansion - looking to add 4 teams

Did the two (WSU, OSU) even want to merge? The way it's going is prolly best because of what you said. This way, they get to cherry pick from the MWC and leave the garbage behind. Hawaii, Nevada-Reno etc. Big 12 did this and left SMU, TCU Houston and Rice in the gutter. Did this again with the AAC, taking UCF, Cinn. etc. But by doing this, they have to scramble to get the number of teams needed, but probably the best way in the end.
Everything I’ve read or heard is they wanted to do a reverse merger but without the bottom tier of the MWC which is kind of what is happening and your Big 12, SWC thing is precisely what I think it happening. Obviously that wasn’t going to work cause why would the MWC offices willingly give up power. Reportedly if OSU and WSU joined the MWC they would forfeit all of the money they won in the lawsuit against the former 10 members. Which is why everyone is dumb for saying we need to ditch the PAC 12 branding.

The Pac 12 is trying to get to 9 for football and sounds like 11 members with Gonzaga and Grand Canyon as non football members which is why the whole AAC reporting, I truly believe, was just smoke. I do think there was mutual interest in Memphis and Tulane but absolutely zero in USF. UTSA said they recommitted to the AAC but I haven’t seen one report saying they were even in real talks (which I think is dumb personally). UNLV reportedly is the only other school who received an invitation from the actual Pac 12. The AAC schools were talking with the consulting firm the conference is using. And why all this shit is so irritating is cause we are using one firm but the MWC and AAC both are using a different so there is so much out there that isn’t true.

I think this is true but that thought went out the window when they couldn't lure the best of the AAC. At this point, a merger probably makes more sense than paying the buyouts, the lawsuit, etc. associated with leaving Hawaii and Wyoming out.
Not really, neither conference right now has enough schools. The way it should play out is the Pac 12 should reach out to Conference USA to see if they would take San Jose State, New Mexico, Nevada and Wyoming. No idea on where this lawsuit is going because IMO it is idiotic for us to sue the MWC, but the best play is to try to dissolve the conference then we pay zero and become the only conference that the networks can pay for west coast games

Disagree. Utah is the only school that makes the Big 12 a superior conference and it’s not like Utah is vastly superior to WSU, OSU and Boise State. I truly don’t think Utah is what they are now had they played in the Pac 12 North.
You aren't a serious human being with this

I don’t know man. If the Big 12 really wanted them then they would have already had them by now and OSU and Wazzu would have accepted in the blink of an eye.
Getting $100-$200 million dollar war chest to make it work I honestly think they would have invited those 2.

Can the PAC take Hawaii please?
I've always wondered why they've never made a good run in either football or basketball for at least a little while, you would think kids would want to take advantage of their location. Especially hoops so hey... why not now? 1 why not go play ball on the islands for a few years and 2 Why not offer potential recruits at the other conference members a couple of trips to the Islands while they are in college to get out of the northwest :noidea: ? I mean sure the guys in the top tier conferences can fund their own trips like that but the guys that's gonna be in this one are gonna need help. Maybe the time has come.

IMO i think the Pac should get New Mexico State. Solid in Basketball, decent in baseball, tho football looks to be back sliding to their not so good ways. stays west and connected to Colorado
MWC grab up UTEP. no real reason other than western most. fills the number.

MWC and Pac 2 should have just done a school yard pickem probably would have ended up with 7 and 7 looking similar either way

The schools getting demoted to CUSA won't vote to dissolve

I liked the relegation idea floated out when the conferences made their scheduling agreement. I think a relegation game would be a good tv draw

If they have a landing spot they would. If they are going to get stuck in a OSU and WSU situation then no they wouldn’t. Certainty seems a lot better than trying to use all the money they might get to pay for FCS schools to come up and compete.

Name a team in the Big 12 other than Utah that would be a favorite in the Pac 12/7?
You mean this year????
Oklahoma St, Kansas State, Iowa State, BYU, UCF, I mean fuck Arizona may even get some votes too.

You are so far out of your depths saying this it’s asinine. Your newly formed MWC couldn’t touch the B12.

Wouldn’t have been a war chest
Yes there would have. Wazzou/OSU needs to stay in the PAC until 2026 fiscal year (June 1st) ends to keep it. A scheduling agreement with the B12 for 24 and 25 seasons and then an announcement June 1st 2026 of joining the B12.

I doubt it. Nobody is going to give up the buyout money in order to land in a weaker conference. OSU and WSU weren't willing to dissolve the conference in order to join the MWC.

UNLV has turned down the PAC 12 in order to remain with the MWC, and Air Force will also remain in the MWC instead of going to the AAC.

Essentially by utilizing the PAC's poaching payments, the MWC is going to pay it's remaining member schools to stay in the MWC.

UNLV, Air Force decide to remain in Mountain West Conference after negotiating re-signing bonus with league

lolz

Just merge already. I understand why the PAC tried to lure some AAC schools but if they can't make that happen, just merge with the MWC. This feels like the commissioners are fighting to see which one gets to keep their job.

The New PAC will have to pay the MWC 50mm in poaching fees but they are suing to get out of it.

They signed an agreement. They ain’t getting out of it and the MWC shouldn’t settle with them either as the PAC has no leg to stand on.
