Soaking Wet Friday…..

Where is Sean Penn and his camera crew when you need him?

Rain is almost done here now. Power has been on and off. Tree fell over during the night. Thankfully away from the house. But fence damage and lying in middle of road

Morning all, leave for London tomorrow, I'm not sure if I mentioned it :), I am pretty excited

Hoping to send out an offer letter today to a job applicant, my boss would probably have to finish it up next week while I'm gone

Finally getting my insurance settlement from the damage from hurricane beryl. Been living with concrete floors and 2 feet of drywall missing since July

lawn bowling team won last night, took out one of the top teams, no big deal

Going to be a rocky night for the local team's homecoming parade and game tonight. Forecast is for 60-65 mph winds from 6 to midnight from Helene's remnants. No news from friends in Tampa and Tallahassee.

How can the states be this unprepared? 4 million without power?

Something must be desperately wrong with the infrastructure of these places to be this badly flooded?

Your retarded state has the most fresh water coastline in The Union and still can't provide its constituents with unleaded drinking water. A hurricane would set you back 75 years.

Utility companies won't spend the money it takes to bury and waterproof their equipment. And if substations or transformers go out, everything is fucked.

Above ground? Or flooded vaults?

Rainy football day. IN HS FB teams will probably go 2-4 as that is the worst they can do. OH HS FB teams maybe 2-2 or 1-3. Work can hurry up & get over as it's sucking. Hopefully tomorrow the tackle teams get Ws. They are both the better teams but we are starting to see some zoning out & screwing around at practice.

Also, I don't think tax payers would approve this either...

Makes a lot of sense to have everything underground though. Unless you like in California since earthquakes will just knock them out anyway

Tampa is a fucking mess. I lived over by USF and I hear that’s even underwater

Crap. Best of luck on the clean-up.

I think I'm glad I ordered a new wood splitter yesterday. If I would've waited one more day it may have been back-ordered for weeks. (I still need to split some logs from the dead ash I chopped down a few weekends ago.)

My brother lives north of Tampa; he checked in this morning. He lost power overnight, but lives far enough inland and on high enough ground where flooding wasn't a concern.

Bigger news was that his son broke his ankle the night before his 6th birthday (this week). That sucks.
