Pac12 expansion - looking to add 4 teams

Guess we'll agree to disagree. Zona has looked like shit every game. They're going to get rocked this weekend. I don't think TT will be any good, but neither will Arkansas.
Maybe, looking at Washington's schedule I'm not sure how they go anything better then 7-5 at this point. Tonight will be tough and they still have to go to PSU and UO. TT may get to .500 but don't see much more than that.

Early season polls have always been irrelevant and have become even more irrelevant since the formation of the CFP committee.

I agree KSU and Okie Lite haven't done anything other than start the year ranked. But, to date, I'll list a bunch of teams that also really haven't done much other than start the year ranked. We'll start at the top and work down.

Ohio State - Akron, Western Michigan, Marshall
Ole Miss - Furman, Middle Tennessee, Wake Forest, Georgia Southern
Miami - Florida, Florida A&M, Ball State, USF

If you keep going there are others. Many will do more to earn their rankings in the future, but others won't. So if we're going to make a list of teams that have done nothing or little to nothing other than start the year ranked, we need to be inclusive, no?

Oh yeah for sure Ohio State, Ole Miss and Miami haven't beaten anyone good, but they've been dominant in their play. Oklahoma State struggled beating a mid to bottom SEC team, and got worked by Utah. KSU struggled against Tulane, and got wiped out by BYU. Sure beating Arizona is a better win than anything OSU has done(I think), but OSU has simply crushed everyone.

With Washington State, they have the resume(7th in SoR), and their efficiency metrics are right there with Oklahoma State and KSU. Even better than KSU's is. So they've played better competition(to date) and have looked just as good from an efficiency standpoint. OSU, Ole Miss and Miami are all top 5 in efficiency.

7-5 is a decent win. Had they beaten Wazzu and was 8-4 at the end that may have gotten them ranked. I think Zona will finish towards the bottom of the B12. They've just looked awful. Haven't put a complete game together yet. I was high on them, but having watched every game, it's not been good. TT is probably a .500ish type team.

If they would have beaten Wazzou we wouldn’t be having this discussion. To each their own, but for the record I have Udub finishing 7-5, AZ finishing 8-4 and TT finishing 6-6.

Tuesday, Wednesday Friday games make more sense to me than Thursday games do now that the NFL has gone to Thursday games. Going head to head with the NFL for viewership is an exercise in futility imo.
I agree.

Utah did not look as good as their ranking vs Baylor or Utah State, 2 teams that are not that good.

Are we really talking about almost losses? Remember last Friday when wazzou almost lost to San Jose st? Or how Oregon state survived a bad SDSU??? Oregon state has lost more than once to a 1-AA this century. Oregon St and Wazzou didn't sniff a conference championship with arguably a softer conference (save last year). They wouldn't sniff a top 2 finish in this B12. Yet you think because they won/survived some games vs a down PAC no one from the B12 would have a chance?

You should get your water checked Dave.
So I guess Oregon is trash cause they almost lost to Idaho and Boise State. The SJSU game was definitely not a good showing but Washington State still won the game. I’m not trying to pretend we are some great program but as it stands now, not a single team in the current Big 12 would’ve won the Pac 12 North at any time it’s history, so your view is a little warped on WSU and OSU.

Washington should beat Rutgers tonight.

Rutgers has 2 wins over scrubs and their loss to VT was bad because VT is not that good.

Washington had 2 unimpressive wins but when they played a good team they played well in a tough loss.

It was a no brainer for to take the Huskies ML since it was basically pick 'em.

Winning is all that matters.

Early in the season some teams are still getting the kinks worked out so to speak.....if it was midway through the season or later there would be cause for alarm IMO. Especially, for teams that are rebuilding (see Washington for an example) after losing a lot of talent to graduation and the NFL.

Utah was up 23-0 on Baylor before Rising got hurt. And he didn't play against Utah State. Those scores are misleading. If he plays against Zona, they'll handle them pretty easily. I think they'll still beat them even if he doesn't play.

Rutgers beat VT FYI

Supposedly Texas State (AAC) and UTEP (CUSA) are interested in joining the PAC. Grab Texas State (if you even can), get to eight, and call it a day for now until future expansion candidates that would add value can be considered.

having a close game is not the same as almost losing. Idaho was never really in question. Scoring the wining FG as time drops isnt almost losing it almost going to OT.

I’m not the one that brought up almost loses dude. Im not the one being ridiculous here. Your last sentence is complete and utter bullshit. Just 2 years ago TCU would have won the PAC north. Don’t talk about others warped views when yours is ridiculous.

The Knights might lose tonight, probably will, but they are gonna boatrace my Bruins.

SMDH.

I’m taking Rutgers. They aren’t a bad team honestly and it’s at home. You are right that the books have it as basically a pickem. Also I don’t think Udub is a bad team, I just think they have a tough schedule remaining.

Week avy bet straight up? I have RU and you have UW

That Rutgers vs Nebraska game should be interesting.

Sure.

Want me to set up a bet in the BE also?

I will NEVER forget the 1985 UTEP Upset of BYU.
Keep the faith.
Go Miners!
I was actually there that night. Probably the highlight of the entire existence of UTEP football. For the most part, UTEP dropped 8-9 guys in coverage. When the field shrunk after BYU drives it was clogged up like a toilet.
