2024 Hurricane Season

This sucks. I have some people I know in Hernando Beach and Western North Carolina. Both got hammered by Helene. House flooded in Hernando Beach. In North Carolina , house survived and everyone ok, but road washed out. My future in-laws (in 3 1/2 weeks) retired in Pompano Beach last year. This one should bypass them, but Hernando Beach looks looks looks like back to back disaster.

They are still not 100% on the track yet and won't be until about 12 hours out from land fall.. this thing hasn't track as far north of the yucatan as they were expecting to stay on that particular track btw.. there's a new track that puts it south of Tampa Bay.. closer to Sarasota. It's not making the northeastern turn they are expecting yet..

The track is somewhat south from yesterday. Sounds like you are right. As long as you are on Western side all good, Eastern side disaster near the eye.

In this particular instance we are on the north side.. which normally is considered the west side.. however this stupid ass storm is going to dump a bazillion gallons of rain.. they are predicting up to 24 inches... not that it matters at my house.. it may pond a little bit for a while but soon as it stops raining you'll never know we got that much rain within a couple of hours.. I'm 153 ft above the aquifer. There's no high ground water level in my property.

Good to hear it won’t be that bad for you.
