Oklahoma will be Arkansas

It does for Oklahoma to be a conference title contender in the SEC
You don’t have to win the conference to win a natty, not anymore. You people are delusional though if you really don’t think OU will compete. I mean batshit crazy delusional.

It’s a has been program. Elite programs don’t get their HC’s poached by other college teams

I follow you now.

Yeah, he ain't taking no 'assistant' DC job. He won't have to.
Wes Goodwin will whip him back into a winner. Just needs the right mentorship

I agree but with how things got gutted on the off side of the ball it’s just too soon to judge.

Agree. You gotta give a new HC 4 or even 5 years to get his system in place, make adjustments, etc.

What torques me is AD's giving extensions every year even though they aren't producing.
They're always on a 5, 6, 7, year contract and the heat's never on them economically because of the multi-year buyout.
After 5 years of fail, Frost walked outta here with a 5 year contract buyout.

Let that initial 5 year contract expire and say buh-bye.

Yes.. If I am interviewing someone like Venables, we are spending 75% of our time talking about his offensive plans. That is what separates good Head Coaches from coordinators. Stoops was an example of a DC that got it.
I'd put Saban in that category. He was definitely a defensive guy but adapted to the times both offensively and defensively. Even though I doubt he really wanted to. He was smart enough and flexible enough to do so. Defensively he shifted from wanting run stopping LBs to some that could cover/tackle in space better. Knew he had to. And offensively he accepted the possibility that his beloved defense could be put in some precarious situations with an offense the "took more chances".

Les Miles was the opposite. He was never willing to risk his beloved defense being put in a bad spot. Leach was stubborn the opposite way. He could care less about the time his defense was on the field. If he could score in three plays and less than a minute, tough shit defense.

Yep. Didn't even have to win your conference to get into the CFP. Happened three times didn't it? tOSU in 2017, Bama and TCU in 2022.

I mean, y’all have been a has been program for decades now.
