EPL 2024/2025

You think De Ligt and Mazroui enjoying life at Man U? Bayern kept Upa and Kim and so far they have righted the ship at the backend under Kompany.

3-0 now. Does Ten Haag get sacked this week? Who goes first Ten Haag or Lopetegui? I say Ten Hag.

Lothar Matthaus trashing Tuchel this week. Bank on it he will replace Ten Hag by next weekend.

Tuchel would be a step up for Man U. At the very least, he has a distinct style he sets his team up in.

I don't know what Ten Haag is doing there...seems like his players don't really know either. Spurs crushed them and it was a dominant performance even before Bruno got sent off. Man U had a 5-6 minute stretch where they turned it on and looked like they wanted to compete, then they let in the 3rd goal.

Spurs were the talk of Sirius soccer this morning. They had Danny Kelly on this morning. Spurs are leading in many categories offensively just have had some bad luck in games but now it seems Ange system is working. Solanke and Johnson have picked it up. Outscored their opponents in last 3 games 9-1.

Man U they have no system and management public Ten Hag contract negotiation over summer shows no respect. Players feed off that. Look at the effort out there. Rashford is a ghost and new players like De Ligt aren’t showing full effort. This roster should be better but the players and coach relationship there is no respect. A complete disgrace in front of those home fans yesterday.

Is Cole Palmer the best player i the EPL? 43 goal contributions is more than Haaland in past year by 1. His free kick yesterday was sublime. Could have had 8 goal contributions yesterday if Jackson had not fumbled them away. I think Pep made a big mistake selling him to Chelsea. Southgate made a big mistake not starting him this last summer. He is Swiss Army knife too positionally. He has been a bit quiet until yesterday but mostly teams are focusing on him now. The difference is this year the rest of the team is performing now with more focus on Palmer. Maresca hire seems like a good thing. Ange, Maresca, Slot seem to know what they are doing. They have a process and the players have bought in. Ten Hag no. No process, whether good or bad, player motivation disintegrates like we are seeing at Manchester United.

Needs to beat Porto and Villa or he is a goner during the International break. Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Saudi Arabia his next destination? Maybe back to Holland somewhere.

So didn't beat either and didn't lose either. Tomorrow is decision day.

Glad i was out on the course instead of watching Spurs forget how to play in the 2nd half.

Sorry about that. I thought the Spurs had turned the corner. Bad day for me too. Both Bayern and the 49ers choked and gagged at the end.

Mikel Arteta: Fuck International Duty!!!!

Good game for Spurs yesterday. Sonny back. I think he was out for a while?

Good game for Spurs, shitty for West Ham. I wasn't excited about Lopetegui, never really rated him, I tried to tell other Hammers to be careful what you wish for when they were yelling "Moyes out".

Yeah, he had a hamstring issue and missed a month.

West Ham's old playstyle of defense and counter works well against Ange's Spurs.

The other playstyle that is effective is what Brighton did - match the intensity and press like madmen. But even that game, Spurs went 2-0 up and looked like they would run away with the game early.

Hammers looked dangerous on a few occasions, but they just couldn't handle the full game's intensity. Kudus looked really good until he absolutely lost his mind towards the end of the game.

Yeah, that was Moyes's bread and butter, he did the same at Everton, and while not world beaters, no one like playing them, same with West Ham while he was there.

Is Lopetegui on a noose already? Does not seem he works. Look at Nuno over at Forest. Great job so far. Great job at Wolves, but his reputation scarred at Spurs.

For a lot of supporters yes. His style (whatever it is) doesn't work in the PL, and honestly really never worked anywhere, he had one good season at Sevilla, other than that he's never been that good.

Different level of pressure at Forest and Wolves compared to Spurs. At the bare minimum, what we learned from the Mourinho-Nuno-Conte time period is that Spurs' DNA is attacking football and the fans will quickly turn against a defensive manager when results turn bad.

West Ham's roster is really good on paper. IMO, they're in that weird middle ground where the players' instincts are to sit back but the manager has them set up to press and play expansive. What they get instead is an ineffective press and a defense that is terribly exposed on the transition. A big part of the reason why the Hammers are near the bottom of the league in goals allowed so far.

I think it turns around, but these things normally take time.

He wants to play a wide open style but doesn't have the personnel for it. It'd be like going to a team built to run a Power I or Wishbone and trying to immediately switch to a Run N Shoot.

I always hated this. I get that footy managers in particular can be dogmatic about the type of game they want to play, but it will always irk me when the excuse is a team doesn't have the players to fit the style.

I mean, why not line up and play a style that suits your set of players best? But that's never the case and never will be.

Exactly, it would be the same result if Pep came in and tried to run his version of tiky-taky with the current West Ham team. IMO a great manager will adapt to the resources (players) he has and them gradually change and bring in the right people.
