The entire playoff committee needs to be drawn & disemboweled

I actually think the committee did a decent job. Georgia and BYU should be higher. Notre Dame should be lower. Everyone else is about right.

The SEC SOS gets inflated by shit teams like Auburn, Florida & Oklahoma hovering around the top 25 in these systems metric rankings.
Here's the rub with that argument ... more often than not, when push comes to shove, the SEC teams back it up. Sure, we lose some games. But at the end of the day, by any metric, the SEC teams back it up on the field. NCs, bowl wins, records against other conferences, etc. And don't come back with Vandy/GaState, Arky/OkieState, LSU/USC, etc., I get it. I do not say the SEC cellar dwellers would win the B1G, or all our teams are great, etc. I am just saying that when we play each other, we generally play better teams across the board, and the metrics show that. And, for the most part, we play aggressive OOC, with some cupcakes thrown in like all schools do (look at your own school before coming at me with cupcakes), and do well.

Auburn Florida & Oklahoma would be just as mediocre-bad in any other conference. I'm ok with giving UGA and Bama benefit of the doubt based on very recent success, but anyone else, nah.

BYU is getting totally hosed across the board by the CFP Committee. If the Cougars win out (12-1), they 100% should receive a BYE to the Fiesta Bowl.

If they win out 100% they’ll be either a 3 or 4 seed (likely 4 seed though). In that scenario they will have beaten #21 Arizona State on the road this Saturday and then also another ranked opponent in the conference championship game.

And to that I'll point to Illinois and say it isn't just the SEC.

I'd agree that Illinois isn't very good.
But the CFP has them 25. Someone the other day was bitching about the SEC having mizzou at 23 in the CFP rankings "to help SOS" but they ignored my request to explain Illinois at 25 then.

I think they should only rank like the top 15, once you get to 20-25 you are just arguing between a bunch of mediocre or worse teams. A few get propped up with that "top 25!" tag that really means nothing in that 20-25 range especially.

I wish they would just do the top 12 and then have a section of "also receiving votes" to show who is on the edge. Would basically be the playoffs and first 4 out.

I'd be good with that too. It will never happen though people are way too programmed to a top 25

CFB is cyclical. It's fun to poke fun at those programs right now, but they have performed in the BCS era as good or better than the B1G's best programs. Do you think Iowa, or Minny, or similar record teams in the B1G are going to do that?

How many times do we have to go through this? Florida and Auburn having good seasons years ago means absolutely dick in 2024. Both have been miserably average-mediocre since the early 2010s. Auburn more so.

They don't cast ballots like the other polls though so that wouldn't make sense
