Then IU wins by 20+What if the Nebraska game was any gauge...
I am being totally rational. H2H doesn't work when you are deciding who should be ahead in a group of tied teams. Again, you want Ole Miss ahead of us, but not Tenn ahead of Bama. Explain that.I look at like this. Texas Georgia was a closer played game than Ole Miss Georgia.
Total yards were separated by 26 yards in Texas game, but you beat that ass
Ole Miss out-gained Georgia by 152 yards, but you think Georgia is better. That doesn’t make much sense. I didn’t say anything about Texas being above Georgia. I tend to be rational about these things
I emailed one of the "computer guys" that was part of the BCS. I asked him about this very thing. What should be done when trying to see where teams should be ranked when they are tied in this manner. His reply: Body of work.I am being totally rational. H2H doesn't work when you are deciding who should be ahead in a group of tied teams. Again, you want Ole Miss ahead of us, but not Tenn ahead of Bama. Explain that.
I have us ahead of Ole Miss because our body of work is better. The same reason you would put Bama in front of Tenn.
If you read my posts, I readily acknowledged that Ole Miss kicked our ass. I don't think you are being rational to use total yards to indicate our game was close. We dominated your OL and your QB, just like OM did to us, and for that reason we were on a short field all day long. That's why the yards were close. It didn't have anything to do with the game being close, IMO.
Unless it is programmed in or in the formula, I don't think we'd see any of it for computer generated metrics. That's a human bias.I know it's one metric and it's not definitive, etc. I've looked at a lot of metrics, there's some inconsistencies but I don't see bias towards a conference or towards certain brands.
And it exists. The first rankings last season had Michigan undefeated and ranked 4th. The first rankings this season had Indiana undefeated and ranked 8th. Up to that point, both teams' strength of schedule was about the same.Unless it is programmed in or in the formula, I don't think we'd see any of it for computer generated metrics. UTEP > IndianaThen IU wins by 20+![]()
Conclusion: Indiana will win a natty easier than Michigan. And it exists. The first rankings last season had Michigan undefeated and ranked 4th. The first rankings this season had Indiana undefeated and ranked 8th. Up to that point, both teams' strength of schedule was about the same.
I don't think there is a conference bias, I think there definitely is a program bias.Unless it is programmed in or in the formula, I don't think we'd see any of it for computer generated metrics. That's a human bias.
I do too when it comes to any type of human poll. AP, CFP, Coaches Poll, etc. There shouldn't be one in a computer generated one...unless the programmer put one in there. Or if the programmer used specific data slanted toward certain programs in the formula.I don't think there is a conference bias, I think there definitely is a program bias.
Or if the programmer puts one of those human polls as a factor in their calculation. That's the only other way, and most common way, to put bias into it.I do too when it comes to any type of human poll. AP, CFP, Coaches Poll, etc. There shouldn't be one in a computer generated one...unless the programmer put one in there. Or if the programmer used specific data slanted toward certain programs in the formula.
I don't follow, please xsplain
That's a website where you type in a two teams and it goes through a satirical justification process to prove why a team that is weaker is better than a good team. I used my two win team and undefeated Indiana.I don't follow, please xsplain
If you put in a winless team, would your computer just start smoking and the interwebs crash? That's a website where you type in a two teams and it goes through a satirical justification process to prove why a team that is weaker is better than a good team. Haven't even tried. They'd go deeper into team x beat a common opponent more than team y. That's what happened at the end of my example. If you put in a winless team, would your computer just start smoking and the interwebs crash?
You had Georgia ahead of Ole Miss. I disagreed. I pointed out the recency of the game and the lopsided total yards stats.I am being totally rational. H2H doesn't work when you are deciding who should be ahead in a group of tied teams. Again, you want Ole Miss ahead of us, but not Tenn ahead of Bama. Explain that.

We can disagree on H2H v. Body of Work. You seem to want to pick when to use H2H sometimes, body of work others. I try to be consistent. You had Georgia ahead of Ole Miss. I disagreed. I pointed out the recency of the game and the lopsided total yards stats.
You had Bama ahead of Georgia. I agreed
You had Tenn below Georgia. I agreed
Hope that clears it up..
As to the Texas game. PFF credited the Texas OL with 2 sacks. As for Quinn, I said he is amazingly inconsistent. Bad Quinn is just a self-sacking disaster. Watch the highlights from the Arkansas game and it will be clear. Never seen a Qb with worse pocket awareness. It can be bizarre. Not saying the OL had a good day, but damn Quinn was bad. Great example is the sack fumble that led to the 1st Georgia TD. Georgia left the slant uncovered. Easy first down. Quinn holds the ball for no reason and takes a sack. Just brutal
Just my opinion. Both defenses dominated in Austin. Game turned on where teams made turnovers. Both offenses were straight bad. Neither QB wants that tape coming out.We can disagree on H2H v. Body of Work. You seem to want to pick when to use H2H sometimes, body of work others. I try to be consistent.
The lopsided yards stats to try and make OM v. UGA worse than UGA v. TEX is just absurd. C'mon, you have to know that. Both games were total ass whippings. You are seriously discounting our game against you because we kept forcing turnovers that gave us short fields. That makes zero sense.
Every year mbb trams cry like babies for not making the 68? (With 16 seed play ins)If you don't want to be on the outside looking in, take care of business.
