highest bidder? psu? too cold.. Oregon? shoe deal? SMU? Money plus no state income taxes and also is home...

I'll take SMU over Oregon slightly

I'm sure I can google this, but...are those in the transfer portal immediately eligible? Meaning they could step into bowl games yet to be played this year?

If it's their first transfer and they meet eligibility.

That being said, not sure anyone would be all that effective in an offense or defense where they had to learn new scheme, communication signals, etc.

Maybe a Ndamukong Suh type player could get away with it.

This is the major problem with the NIL era and "free transfers".

This dude pocketed a bunch of money for zero production and now he gets to simply parlay that into more money somewhere else?

What are we doing here?

I'm fine with them getting paid, but this idea there's no strings attached or obligation by the players is terrible for the sport.

I agree in principle, but you have to be smarter the way you distribute your money. Everyone knew this was coming. He got money in HS because state law allows it, then in year 1, and now will get more money transferring. We'll see if the House Settlement fixes this.

UGA's Nitro Tuggle changes mind and decides to stay at UGA.

But they're paying the wrong people. Pretty confident based on what I've heard that Williams Nwaneri made more money as a freshman in NIL than Darius Robinson made as a senior. Darius Robinson was a first round pick who poured five years into Mizzou. Williams Nwaneri was a gigantic heaping of potential.

This isn't about Darius or Will personally. But the money should be going to the kids who have already proven they can produce at this level for your school. Instead it's going to the transfers and recruits and shiny new toys. It's like the NFL before Sam Bradford broke things and the NFLPA demanded a rookie salary cap.
