How does Nebraska/Cincinnati end up on ESPN?

I understand they're possibly playing it at Arrowhead, but will Cincinnati be considered the home team and therefore defaults to their tv deal?

BTW... College football at Arrowhead sucks. The Chiefs organization don't give a shit about college football fans.

According to what the Big Ten put out yesterday, it's technically a Cincy home game. That's what I'm basing it on. If that ends up being not correct, then that'll change. It could still end up on Fox/FS1, but I do think ESPN will make that a top priority.

Also, from what I've seen, the game appears to be scheduled to be played in Indy?

There was talk a month ago of moving it to Arrowhead and per local radio it's still a possibility. Not sure how they'd do that since tickets have already been sold for Indy?

Yeah, I wouldn't know how that would work. I wonder if moving it to Arrowhead would mean Nebraska would be the designated home team then? That would certainly change a lot of things around. I can see CBS or NBC definitely picking this game if they are allowed. IMO, this is the 2nd best B1G game in week 1.

After looking into it a bit further, it was originally scheduled as a Home and Away.

The first game was supposed to be @ Nebraska in 2020, but the game was cancelled by the Big 10 due to Covid. The return trip (Cincinnati home game) was scheduled for Sept 13, 2025, so this will indeed be a Cincinnati home game. So I guess ESPN/ ESPN2 or FOX/FS1 since the Big 12 has media rights deals with both.

The replacement for the original 2020 Nebraska Home game is apparently scheduled for 2032.

Okay, with it staying a Cincy home game, I do think this could still land on ESPN. I think big Fox is doubtful, and Nebraska is too big a draw, IMO, for this to be on FS1. I will say, IF big Fox does a primetime game in week 1, this could definitely be the choice. They didn't do one in week 1 this past season, but did in 2023. My projection has no primetime game, but this would be the logical choice if so.

Why does college football suck at Arrowhead??

Been there for two Nebraska games and multiple Chief's games. KC is a NFL town. Everything runs smooth for an NFL game.

Their service was terrible for both the CFB games. They didn't have traffic control on the interstates going into Arrowhead so traffic bottle necked and backed up for miles around Arrowhead. That was an August Kickoff Classic against Okie Jr.

In the Big 12 CCG Nebraska vs Oklahoma, it had snowed appx 10" the day before. They couldn't be bothered with removal of the snow inside the stadium. We had to brush off or seats and stood in ankle deep snow the entire game.

Wow lol. Thats absurd

At least we were layered up for low teen temperatures with thermals, coveralls, snow boots, cold weather gloves, stocking caps, etc.

I figure if it were the Chief's playing they'd have cleared the snow from the bleachers. They did clear it from the playing field.

It takes people to shovel the snow down out of the stands, so maybe they're just volunteers for the Chief's games.

It's been officially moved to Arrowhead.

Just realized this is on a Thursday. Wow! And in that article it was confirmed the game will be selected based on the B12 selection process. Basically narrows it down to Fox or ESPN. ESPN had a B12 Thursday night game this past year with NDSU/CU. I gotta guess that's the play because Fox will take week 1 with one of their first 3 selections to put Texas vs. OSU at Big Noon week 1.

Wondering if Fox won't have an opening night Thursday game this season?
