The playoff bitching will never stop.

This year proves that wrong.

You want a shit team like Texas or Oregon to be champs?

tOSU will deserve the natty after going through. Oregon Texas and penn st
Texas wouldn’t be in the Top 4 after the CCGs.

Ohio state
Texas
Notre Dame
Penn state

These are the final 4 teams but they are not the 4 best teams. Is this what the playoffs want?
What did you expect?

When you ask for an 8, 12, or 16 team playoff you are saying you are more than fine with the 7th/8th, 11th/12th, or 15th/16th best teams going at it in the finals for the title if it ever comes to that.

That YOU expected it to mean only more speed bumps for the top 2-4 teams to always win it and anything else is illegitimate is your problem.

Wild card teams win championships in the professional sports leagues.

It is about who is playing the best football at the end of the season, not who played the most consistent over the entirety of the season. Oregon wasn't playing as good as Ohio State. It's that simple.

This is what you signed up for.

Not surprising. But he's minor league in the entitled bitch department compared to former B1G commish Jim Delaney. The description for him would have included an additional word. Total, entitled, arrogant bitch.

That criticism aside, both are doing exactly what their constituents want. Total domination. And it is coming soon.
You are completely spot on with this

I'd set it at eight teams and leave it there.
Same, I think 6 is probably plenty TBH but I get the why and money end of it as far as having that many teams involved.

I also think the non playoff bowl games need to get innovative and maybe have a big pot of money ect. As a reward for the players and schools for the winners of those games to go along with the huge pop tarts and mayonnaise baths (which I like both) .

I'm actually happy with the CFP just like it is.

All 12 teams got an opportunity to prove themselves. There will be occasional upsets in future years.

Regarding Oregon getting blown out, it's tough to win rematches. The team that lost the first time gets to see how they got beat and make adjustments to their gameplan.
What does the team that won the first time adjust in their gameplan? You do what gave you success the first time, no?

Not sure what to think about the bye's. Maybe too much time to think about about things and it gets in your head?
I know Nebraska's record is atrocious coming off of bye weeks. They come out flat.

Yea I’m ok with it too, it’s still leaps and bounds better than vote in championships and steep punishments/ leaving out teams for dropping one or two games for an otherwise fantastic team.
One may make a decent argument on schedule strength but bottom line now is, any team “left out” at this point only has themselves to blame tbh.

Yep. While we still have a committee "voting" to a certain extent. But I'll take that over the herd voting mentality of pollsters.

The committee has a better chance to adjust because of schedule strength IMO. They didn't seem to value it as much this year as many wanted, but having a committee was agreed to so they just need to live with it.

The SOS argument loses weight when they have more losses and they lay an egg in the postseason.

It's a tiebreaker, not an overriding factor.

I'm not sure SOS is even much of a tiebreaker.

And if SOS isn't an overwhelming factor, then why teams from lesser conference ranked lower with zero or fewer losses? Liberty for example.

Eye test is #1

Liberty looked bad

I think he is awol from all those peckers.

Weird year where usually its hard to find 4 teams that deserve to be in the playoffs this year we had 6. Plus if I had to bet I would put my money on tOSU to win it all and they were the 6th team.

I've said in the past 4 teams was enough and to be honest tOSU wouldn't have had an argument had they been left out but to make sure we capture the best team it should be no fewer than 8 teams but growing it past 12 is stupid.

Make no mistake whoever wins the final will be and deserves to be the undisputed champ.

If tOSU beats meat chicken. Wood they have played in the CCG?

Ooh. The loss makes more sense now

Big ten paid them to take the L to enhance penn st resume and ensure 4 teams make it in
That makes perfect sense. I totally can see tOSU putting Michigan bragging rights up for sale in order to benefit Penn State. That’s the kind of thing that helps in recruiting.

Brilliant strategy.
