You can go cheap and get whatever size you want. They all have HD and decent frame rates that you ain't noticing shit. You can also get the best background lighting that does make a difference if you are watching them side by side. I guarantee you, you won't miss it as much as the money you spent on it. Unless you are into saying you have the latest and greatest that is.I've been looking at buying a new TV as well. I'm looking at both Ruko and Fire TV platforms.
I don't game but I want something that gives me a picture when viewing sports and movies.
I went with a Fire TV...You can go cheap and get whatever size you want. They all have HD and decent frame rates that you ain't noticing shit. At Costco we have an 85" for $800 right now.
Biggest thing i would suggest for any new tv is a sound bar. My little bit of research and best bang for the buck is a Sony hts-c40. Bar and base box. Can be blue toothed so no wires just power cords. Better than bose or Sonos or Vizio anywhere near that price range. Can get them for $150 on sale.
I bought a cheap 58” fire tv from Bestbuy for about $169 for my patio and I’ve been very pleased with it. I’m sure it will die in a couple of years but if I get 3 then a huge win.I went with a Fire TV...
Amazon Fire TV 55" Omni Mini-LED Series, QLED 4K UHD smart TV, Dolby Vision IQ, 144hz gaming mode, Ambient Experience, hands-free with Alexa, 2024 release
With a sound bar:
Fire TV Soundbar Plus with subwoofer and surround sound speakers, 5.1 channel, Dolby Atmos, easy setup, clear dialogue, 2024 release
That is awesome.I went with a Fire TV...

I just got it setup for the game....That is awesome.
Good question, what does one do with an old TV that works fine.I will likely pick up a 65" tv to replace the 55" Vizio I have in the den that is like from 2016...but then I don't know what to do with the 55"...do you just donate it?
I just posted a 40 inch tv from maybe 10 yrs ago on Next Door for free. It got grabbed up quick.Good question, what does one do with an old TV that works fine.
We had a Samsung washer and dryer at our last house. Previous owner left them there. Soon figured out why. Absolute trash. We left them behind as well.I’ve had pretty good luck with Samsung TVs except that they don’t allow HULU for some reason.
The sound quality sucks also.
As far as Samsung appliances…don’t buy them….especially their refrigerators. Ice maker will crap out on it because it has a faulty design. Every technician that I spoke with told me that they always go bad and that the replacement will eventually go out as well.
South Korean junk. Seriously, stay away from them.
sounds like your Samsung is too old to support the Hulu appI’ve had pretty good luck with Samsung TVs except that they don’t allow HULU for some reason.
