Jackson was the lineman who gave up the pressure that caused the int at the end of the scUM last season. He was a brick wall this season

people forget that this was his first year as a starter.. He was also banged up the last month. I would expect him to improve if he cameback.. I think Arch will make the OL look better too

Wasn't trying to pick on his performance or anything. Just saying sometimes it can get in a young players head when he gives up a play like that.

everybody dabbled but lets be real..nobody took it the way SEC schools did for the past decade. Now you see Texas, Michigan, tosu grabbing players from those rosters who were difference makers and now plucking high end talent from those SEC areas more often now..

tosu has always been able to recruit in the south, but they never got a Caleb Downs type of player (taking him away through the portal to the dismay of UGA)

Are you just saying through a transfer? Only player in that case similar to Downs is Fields.

If you are saying all recruiting then Ohio State got plenty of players from the South as important to the team as Downs. This is to downplay (no pun intended) how good he is. I think he is the best player on this Ohio State team

Fields wasn't what Downs was and yes i was talking about through the portal for y'all.. Y'all have been just as consistent recruiting as Bama and UGA have been the past 10 years

OSU paid the #1 QB coming out of high school so much he had to trade autographs for tattoos, but sure, OSU "paid" players. It cost them vacated wins and a shot at the national championship in 2012.

What do you mean by "he wasn't what Downs was"? Impactful bc Fields was absolutely as impactful as Downs if not more so. We would have been fucking starting Tate Martell at QB had we not gotten Fields
 
Looking forward to the August rematch, though I think UT has the edge early on because they have a QB in place.

Texas - Ohio State games are always epic.

Caleb was an all american Freshman who started for Bama.. won the SEC and made the 4 team CFP. If Fields had seen the field faster than he did behind Fromm.. and had a season like Downs did in his freshman year.. no way would UGA have let him leave.

Downs was the bigger impacting portal addition.. everyone knew how good he was, and he ditched UGA for y'all.
 
Wow this is kind of crazy. OU played at South Carolina, Auburn, LSU, and Missouri in football. And so far in basketball at Alabama and Georgia.

Texas has not had the SEC experience. In football the only new road game was Vanderbilt. Their other road games OU, A&M, and Arkansas they are very familiar with.

Basketballl road games games are same thing so far. At A&M and OU.

They do not know what it's like on the road in the SEC yet.

Fields was the 3rd highest rated high school player of all-time LOL. "He wasn't what Down was"...he was better. He never got a chance to show how great he was at Georgia.

Fields was likely going to leave regardless, whether it was tOSU or a different school. Their scheme did not match Fields' play. It wasn't a fit
