Big East Basketball

It would be at the cost of Marquette and UConn, but 5 is possible.

The SEC will just continue to cannibalize itself and not many mid majors to steal bids this year

Yeah it will hurt UConn and Marquette's seeding, but if they dropped a seed line or two to make room for a couple more BE teams it would be better for the league.

Seton Hall fucking sucks. Like I'm not sure Ive seen a team this bad including DePauls of the last couple years

If Marquette didnt rest guys consistently all 2nd half I don't think they break 45. They may turn it over 30 times.

Aside from a little get right shooting game from Kam, and Gold also hitting shots. We didn't even play that well again(offensively). Missed a billion layups and dunks and it was still 69-43 when we officially pulled everyone with a pulse.

Just a brutal team.

In case y'all didn't know, Hurley is the best coach in the fucking sport. Just ask him. :pound:

He's full of himself, but Calhoun was too.

He's threatened to punch fans before.

I think if you only heard half of the stuff coaches said during games and practice, it'd be shocking.

Even guys like Jay Wright who presented a squeaky clean image I'm sure he was nothing like that in the practices.

I think there are a few guys who are laid back.

X for the second straight game gets up big and does everything in their power to gag it up

Unfortunately for them, this time St Johns got just enough to force OT and then win it.

Had a chance to really get themselves into the bubble mix

I've watched their 3 losses, St Johns could be 20-0 easily.

Their metrics would still not be great though.

They still haven't played a real tough opponent, hard to gauge where they are

Yeah like I said before they got 4 seed beats a 1 seed in sweet 16 type roster.

But a lot of how they look screens blasted by middling sec team in first round.

They have great potential.

I will say tho. Likely no path to undefeated cause pretty sure Tennessee waxes them if they escape the Baylor debacle

Good point

@Mr.Hockey

Nova was in the game but never really in it. Marquette always seems to get a momentum changing steal and score.

Well, first off ultimately it comes down to finishing And we still are not there. Just don't know if the open shots are ever going to fall. Joplin going from 6th man scorer to lock down defender who cant shoot is wild.

Having said that. Master class in game plan and execution. Not making open shots let Nova keep having close. But it was never in doubt because Shaka abused Neptune.

Don't look at the Dixon stats. Garbage time did him well. The way we completely zero'd him out of the game was impressive. And Neptune per usual was befuddled. Banked on a Longino legacy game.

That said, I do keep saying I think this Nova teams ceiling is less Dixon usage. Brickus, Longino and Poplar can all play.

Also, I hope to God all the people asking about our "front court" watched this game. Joplin(for all of his offensive faults) and Gold were incredible on D

If one more person references 4/5 as having some huge edge cause "David Joplin or Ben Gold" are on them. They don't watch these games.

But it wont matter if we keep bricking open 3s, it'll be Nc State 2.0

Dixon's been a good player for us, but him being a 1st team AA is kind of a joke.

That said, he's the best player on a limited team, sort of like Markus Howard was. And he's having a hell of a season shooting wise.

I think if they can sweep the home games with the tourney teams, it gets them back on the bubble.

If they make the tourney, it might save Neptunes' job, so double edged

Dixon is a very quality player and the way he's upgraded his shooting is impressive. Yeah he's not really a 1st teamer since he has no real all around game but he's nice.

It was crazy tho that Nova found no way to get him looks throughout. Marquette just did their usual send hedge the guards at the star and if by chance he gets near the paint wall up and double. And Nova did nothing to try and free him up from that.

I think your Markus analogy is perfect tho. And Really I think this Nova teams is kinda just a weaker version of us. Both dependent on 1 guy. But Kam is more versatile. The next 4 guys are all role guys with big flaws. Ours are just more versatile.

Agree completely that you just need to win the home games. And you can def beat us and SJU at home with the inconsistencies.

2 big wins in their last 3 is all that really matters

But man, Xavier with such a veteran team has to figure out how to close out games better. Currently its just pray the other team runs out of time.

With NMD coming up Saturday and Butler playing mostly everyone close I said this one had trap all over it

Did not think we would pick today to quite literally not play D. The one thing we always do

Alright in context. Incredible win.

1. Classic Shaka half time adjustment to dominate
2. Amazing to see us do it without Kam. Probs wont happen much again. But 10 min without him(got his 4th foul with 13 min left) and going from 1 to 8 pt lead is crazy.
3. Insane officiating. Kam deserved his 4 fouls. Slapping at the ball is dumb. Doing it again with 3 fouls is dumber. But every call on him. Was not called on Butler. They meanwhile were allowed to tackle Stevie all game. And for the first time in Basketball history, a correctly called And 1....was reversed. Idiots
4. Thank you Jay Wright. You missed on Stevie. At least you gave us 1 thing. Kid is an all timer as glue guy turned legit top end BE player.

Also,

BE schedulers are sick and twisted.

Not hard to assume MU Uconn Creighton and SJU would be among the 4 or 5 best in the league. Having them all play each other pretty much consecutively for all 4 come February. Brutal.

But fair for everyone.
