Welcome To The Raiders Chip Kelly!

Michigan is going to try to poach one of your guys -- rumor has it -- they are going to make a huge NIL offer to 2026 WR Chris Henry Jr?!?! I think that was the name I saw.
Everyone is going to try to poach that dude. Oregon will offer it already has offered him a ton too. He is expected to come in and be another Jeremiah Smith as a freshman. Freak athlete and physical traits.

He also has ties to Rich Rod at West Virginia because that's where his dad played.

It's gonna come down to the end, like Smith. As long as Hartline is there, I like our chances, bc these top receivers will be willing to turn down larger NIL offers bc they know they are almost a guaranteed first round pick

NIL should mean nothing to these kids with schools like michigan. They haven't put a WR in the first round for what will be over 20 years by the time he's eligible, and if Underwood doesn't become a star, their offense is fucked.

Those are guys Michigan had no chance in the past. Not saying we have much of a shot now, but the fact they can even enter the conversation is huge for Michigan.

If Michigan signs Ty Haywood -- it'd be our first recruiting class ever, if i remember correctly, where we signed 3 five star guys. With the NIL Michigan has available, I think they will have a chance to do that quite often now.

Yeah -- our poor offense with the true freshman who ran for 100 yards on Alabama in his first start, the 5 star Alabama RB Justice Haynes, who just transferred to Michigan with 2 more years of eligibility. The 5 star Offensive Linemen in the recruiting class.

Don't worry about Michigan. We are just fine. The defense will be stacked again next year too, as we had half a dozen guys who could have went to the NFL decide to return, including 3 All-B1G guys and we added a ton of depth in the middle with DT's from Bama and Clemson.

They might scale back though if some of those 5 stars don't hold up to their billing. It's not sustainable to keep offering large Nil contracts to every 5* high school recruit you want.

From the article today -- the reason you lost your DC is because of Ryan Day. Bold move to run the guy who turned your defense around out of town.

It stated Day would sit in on defensive meetings this past year and would give Knowles directives on what he could and couldn't do.

Ohio needs to give Day a long extension. Michigan fans will pitch in money to cover it for you.
This happened after the first Oregon game.

The defense improved markedly after Ryan Day's intervention. Knowles was offended because he was supposed to be "The Head Coach of the Defense."

He worked for Day. If Day thought Knowles wasn't doing his job, to his boss' satisfaction, Day had every right to step in.

I worked with lots of people who couldn't handle criticism. They were generally not at good at their jobs as they thought they were.

Good luck to Knowles. He helped OSU win a natty, but he sure as hell didn't do it all on his own.

I agree -- the guy funding the new NIL group for Michigan is worth $200+ Billion. His wife is a Michigan grad and his little sons are Michigan fans. I guess when you run out of things to buy, you start buying high school recruits for your wife and kids .

I honestly have no clue what to expect from Michigan's NIL group, as this is all new for Michigan. I will say this though -- I am all for it if Michigan is able to get these high level recruits. If they get Haywood -- Michigan will have signed 3 of the top 25 guys. That has never happened for Michigan.

I thought Michigan would do a lot better in the transfer portal with all the "unlimited money cannon" talk

They whiffed on a good amount of guys they were after. They fell pretty flat on the WR side too, the position they really needed the most.

Buckeye fans your next OC

Yeah. I like the hires. If the Raiders can have a good draft and use their capital wisely this offseason, they might actually field a competitive team

The transfer portal won't be where Michigan can do damage with their NIL group. While the admin have softened their stance on NIL - they haven't changed much in what they will and won't accept on transfers.

Literally nothing you just typed pertains to my post that you quoted.

You mean like saying - If Underwood doesn't become a star, their offense is fucked?!?!
Yeah man, you guys will be fucked. You've struggled mightily to develop offensive talent for the better part of the last decade, and you put all your eggs in the Underwood basket. If he doesn't prove to be elite, you guys are fucked.

I think Michigan has proven over and over and over and over -- You can win if you dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

Michigan didn't even have a QB this year and still went in to the Toilet Bowl and won.

I mean Michigan is going to be mocked for paying a guy that much money if he doesn't become a elite upper level star.
We are? By who? It won't be Ohio fans, they just got beat by a Michigan team with a walk on at QB. If they say anything -- all Michigan fans have to say is...........Davis Warren. :beer2:

You think incorrectly. You're trying to use a very small number of games relative to the total numbers of games played over the last decade to try and prove your point. By and large, michigan has struggled to develop offensive players, and that's not really up for debate.

Also all the OSU game last season proved is that when one team does every single thing in their power to beat themselves, including completely overhauling their offensive scheme for no good reason, they can still somehow win if their kicker doesn't shank two chip shot FGs. If he does that, however, then even michigan can win.
