ACC Basketball

SMU's resume is so fascinating. 0 Q1 wins, but 14-5 against Q1-Q3, which is obviously very good. It reminds me a lot of Indiana State's resume a year ago, who got left out, but would have made it if not for champ week chaos. I'm a little higher on them making it, if they take care of business down the stretch. Get Wake and Clemson at home, win them I think they'll be in a good spot. I think we'll see a little SEC attrition, so I do think Wake and SMU making it is a good bet ATM.

Also, Cuse needs to move off Autry. Ran that straight into the ground.

SMU still has six Q1/Q2 games left, so they have a great opportunity to boost their resume. 5-5 currently against Q1/Q2 competition. 36 NET. 39 SOR. 45 WAB. Probably the bubbliest resume ever, lmao. I think they need to go 5-2 to make the field.

Autry has recruited well, too.

Jyrae Davis - Averaged 17.1 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 2.4 APG on 46.6% FG at Delaware. Very good get.
Eddie Lampkin - Averaged 10.6 PPG, 7.0 RPG on 57.9% FG at Colorado. Another good get.

2025

Saiq White Jr - **** PF rated #26
Kiyan Anthony 4* SG Rated #35 Melo's kid.
Luke Fennell 4* CG rated #122

He's signed some talented players. The current roster construction is a little funky, tho. Doesn't have too many dudes that can stroke it from deep, but they should be much better than what they are.

He's another bad ACC hire. BC, FSU, GT, Miami, NC State, UNC, Pitt, Syracuse and Virginia need to be looking for new coaches. That's half the league and I'm being kind on Notre Dame.

fwiw, i also think Deacs need to end 5-2 to make the field. if they can beat SMU and State, then they're off the bubble.

Yeah, I think if they can get to 10 Q1/Q2 wins combined they'll be looking good (including the ACCT). Butler cratering hasn't helped, but that's still inside Q2 for now. They'll be interesting to monitor down the stretch.

He has recruited fairly well. I thought the team last year was pretty talented and they didn't really come close to making the tournament. I think I've said this before but the further removed from the Big East they get the worse they are becoming. They lost their identity. Instead of playing UConn, Georgetown, St. John's, Nova, Seton Hall they're now playing the likes of GT, Wake, NC State, FSU etc. who have good tradition, but it doesn't move the needle at all for the fan base. All the teams that came over from the Big East, at least the last time, have all sucked for the most part. Even ND has been pretty bad the last 6/7 years. On a macro level it seems like the SEC has hired the home run coaches in the last 5-10 years, and the ACC has missed for the most part with schools like UL(although they seem to be fine now), Cuse, GT, NC State, Pitt, etc...

I'll also say @Hitman Hart , if one of these ACC openings don't go to Will Wade, I'll be shocked. Fortunately, it doesn't look like any SEC openings will be available, which I'm sure he'd prefer, but he's gotta be the coach at an ACC school next year. I'd love for him to go to Minnesota, but that's doubtful. He could have a Kelsey like affect on someone like FSU, UVA or Miami.

I have heard the same about Wade's SEC preference..which is fucking wild.

Virginia would never hire someone like Wade. I could see Miami or FSU tho

I've heard Richard Pitino might be in play at Miami. If I was them I'd go Wade though. All his slimy shit is above board now. Lol.

i doubt Cuse's decline is related to their conference affiliation. they have still recruited very well, it's coaching.

fwiw, i'm amazed at how many schools are spending money on HS recruits. if they're a top 25-30 guy, then i get it, but anything after that is a probable waste of money.

Deacs lost a bidding war w/ UNC for Isiah Dennis. Dennis is rated #60. no thanks, i would rather spend that money on a proven commodity.

Season over.

What happened? I stopped watching and they were up like 15 or so with like 8 minutes left. Sucks man. Gonna need to get SMU or Duke on the road to make up for it now I feel like.

Spillers cramped up for a bit and Forbes decided to sub in Friedrichsen. Offense stalled and FSU started to gain momentum. Ty'Laur Johnson also had the worst game i have seen a PG have in quite some time. with 12 seconds left, this retard tried to hit a shot from half court...you had TWELVE SECONDS LEFT YOU LOUISVILLE REJECT. PASS THE BALL TO SALLIS OR HILDRETH. GOD DAMMIT.

any way, don't care how they do versus SMU and Duke. the entire point behind this season was to get off the bubble. now regardless of what happens they're going to be a bubble team at best. i'm done with this shit. reminds me of last year's Georgia Tech game. i don't like rooting for a team that is perpetually on the bubble. i preferred the Bzdelik and Manning years to this shit.

They still choked the game away, but the wake shooter was also de-cleated on the last second three pointer and nothing was called.

Not sure if I'm missing an obvious joke here, but Hildreth went to the line for three shots and missed the first one. So they truly did choke the game away in every way imaginable because that was a gift from the refs

Deacs win without Hildreth in Dallas. Boopie Miller didn't play for SMU.

still in the middle of the bubble because of the FSU loss. god dammit.

Damn. ACC really might only get 3 bids after today.
