Not a great OC, but will do well as O-line coach.
He's definitely being brought in for his recruiting ability.

Hartline promoted to OC
I would be surprised if they didn’t bring someone else in as well but good for Hartline. Best WR coach and recruiter in the nationIt's also looking like Joe Cullen will be hired as "CO-DC" With Matt G, but won't be announced until after the Superbowl (currently the chiefs DL coach)

The same way one goes from Head Coach at a P5 school to OC at another in the same conference? How does one go from OC to OL?
Is VT OC pay that bad?
Oregon fan wanted to hire Ryan Day as an analyst for Dan Lanning after he was fired from OSU following the scUM loss.
Ohio State just scored again in the Rose Bowl.I think I'd still hire Day as an analyst.

I think Lanning is pretty overrated. Not a great developer of talent. I wouldn’t hire him as an analyst, maybe an assistant to an assistant. He can sit and learn behind the big boys. His time will come
I wouldn't be calling out another program about developing talent. You had to go out and buy your QB, your RB and by far your best defensive player. Hell -- your best offensive player you didn't need to develop either -- he came in built like 5 year NFL vet. Crazy how genetics work -- Jeremiah Smith is NFL ready right now at 18 or 19. He'd be the 1st pick in the NFL draft if he could come out this year. I'm ready to petition the NFL to allow it, so we don't have to see him for two more years.I think Lanning is pretty overrated. Downs was an absolute stud, no questions asked, but that defense was anchored entirely by guys developed at OSU. Not sure what would have happened if we didn't have him, but I can guarantee we don't win a title without guys like Sawyer, JTT, Tyleik, Simon, Hancock, Burke, and Ransom balling out, especially in the postseason.I wouldn't be calling out another program about developing talent. The Caleb Downs money spent was well worth it though. That guy is a STUD!
