It was the wife's idea. What are ya gonna do. My kid's are not risk-takers.


It's funny too, cuz they've rafted down class 3 rapids and we spend all summer and fall in bear country. But if I don't drag 'em to do that, they would never leave the house.

My kids are indoor kids, but are all athletes. My oldest was a figure skater. My two younger ones are gymnasts. Ask them to run around outside, they’ll tell you to go fuck yourself (we’re not real particular about swearing in the wwj household).

Neither of my kids are great athletes. My son is ok. My daughter has 2 left feet, on bath salts. In fairness, she had a slight eye turn when she was young and so we didn't push it either. She had corrective surgery at 7, but by then she already couldn't give any less fucks about sports. She is smart as fuck, but she is 100% princess and not ashamed to tell ya.

My son, I could still see fucking some shit up via stupidity, but if I never pushed, he'd play on the oculus til he starved to death.

They're both good little fisherman, and will follow us to hell if asked. They've done a lot of stupid shit, trusting me and my wife. :lol:

It’s weird about kids and athletics.

Our oldest was a figure skater. She was ok, but never threatened greatness.

Our youngest is a gymnast, but never threatened greatness.

Our middle is a gymnast and she is fucking amazing. She was Texas gymnast of the year last year. This year, she was the Philippine national champion (she represents the Philippines internationally) and competed in the US national championships as well. She’s got a really good shot at the Olympics in LA.

If I had to say what the difference was, it about determination. Wwj2 has been an adult since she could talk. She lives and breathes gymnastics. The other two didn’t have anything close to her level of focus.
