Thursday morning and off tomorrow

Got our first CSA box for the fall program yesterday. Felt like we got a lot more than we did in the summer program. Got collard greens, kale, lettuce, two heads of cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, three squash varieties, eggplant, cherry tomatoes, peppers, apples, and pears. Good thing we split this with my parents.
we did that for a while, but got tired of the random shit that we'd never use. Sure, it was fun to experiment for a while, but one can only each so much Kale and Chard.

motherfuckers in my company not complying with this new digital signature thing in Adobe are really pissing me off.

so because someone decides to sign a printed copy, I have to go back and produce an email saying "I approve this form" even though I already did the digital signature and them printing the sheet negates the Adobe thing.

I charded last night.

I really thought it was just a fart...

We don't have a case of the Oikos yogurt from Sam's, so Mrs Redfoot picked up a few at the grocery store, so I get new flavors!

Lemon tart FTW!

That's the downside of the massive cases at Sam's... lack of variety.

very rarely do I want to consume 40 of the exact same thing.

The first farm we went with had a lot of random nonsense. The eggs we got every week almost made it worth the experiment, but there was too much random stuff like microgreens and radishes.

Two heads of cabbage is probably a tad excessive, though. I'd almost rather get more of something that I could cook and freeze.

I've never had the desire to brew my own beer.

Though my dad had a keg fridge in the basement, so I know the pain of trying to kick something in order to get something new... can't waste beer.

you can't.

and I guess you can always go and buy a 6-pack to break up the monotony...

We use a decent amount of cabbage in the house. Cut it into wedges, put some butter and S/P on it, wrap it in tinfoil and either bake it or grill it. Fucking delicious. We do that every few weeks. Even the kids love it.

Also, coleslaw and homemade sauerkraut. My parents make something they call "pigs in a blanket, which is a meat/tomato mixture wrapped in cabbage and baked. I hate it, but the rest of the family loves it.

Deuce got to go to school today. I'm guessing he only has a handful of in-person days left, so I'm glad he was able to go today.

back in the spring before school shut down they gave out cabbage plants to all the kids and it was some contest for who could grow the best one. We won. Then I just tilled that fucker into the dirt. I have no use for that shit other than showing off my green thumb.

As for the radishes, have you tried roasting them? I'm a fan of radishes in general, but it is difficult to get through even a bunch. Once I started roasting them as a side dish, we started flying through them.

Cole slaw. Also, frying cabbage in bacon grease is top shelf. The problem is that we probably only can eat about a quarter of a head like that.
